got you through the first year or are getting you through the first year. It’s been almost ten years since my last baby and gave all of my stuff away. I know newer items (or improved) are available from ten years ago but I’m not sure what to shop for.
Things I know I’ll want are a sling or carrier (not sure of the best brand), stroller and car seat (not sure of combo or separate items), nursing accessories (cape, pillow good support bra). What do you recomend and why?

A Lot of C & D batteries!

I’m in college and wondering what would influence baby boomers to buy more products. Is it coupons, more discounts, or maybe products or something from when they were younger? Any information would help.

better selection of electronicss, movies and books.

Target has a very lame electronics dept.

My boyfriend is Jewish, and his mom tell him to don’t have a baby shower. Is this true?

In more liberal Jewish circles that attitudes are more relaxed it sounds like BF’s mother isn’t liberal.

In Jewish tradition, baby showers were taboo. Gifts for an unborn child are not forbidden by Halakha, or Jewish law, but custom effectively prohibits them.

Such gifts once were thought to draw the attention of dark spirits, marking the child for disaster. To this day, many Orthodox Jews will not so much as utter the name of a baby until that baby is born, for fear of inviting the evil eye.

My baby is 4 months old and has just now started rolling over from her tummy to her back. If, in the middle of the night in her crib, she rolls from her back to her tummy, and stays like that, is it safe? How about when to put blankets/pillow in her crib? She has VERY good neck support by the way.

I had both of my babies on there bellies by 2 months, they just slept better. The baby should be fine on its stomach as long as it has a little control of its head. As for blankets, they made me nervous. I dressed the baby in blanket sleepers at night that way you have no worries and they are warm.

I use baby powder a LOT throughout the year. It really helps make me feel cool and comfortable, especially in hot weather when I get sweaty. I used to put it around my waist also but now only use it mainly under my arms. I don’t use in on my waist any more because it’s nearly impossible to wash out of my clothes!

I’ve actually washed my cut-offs 3 or 4 times, turning them inside out or visa versa each time with the talc STILL remaining in the cloth! I have no idea how to deal with this problem. Does any one know of a particular soap that might do the job better? I’ve used a few different laundry products in the washing machine and I get the same results….talc in the fabric(s).

I’d greatly appreciate your answers.

The only thing I can suggest is before you wash your clothes try using 1 cup of white vinegar in two cups of warm water then rub the areas encrusted with talcum powder with a sponge dipped in the vin./water solution. Then wash your clothes in the usual way.
I hope this helps.

I heard how people make little baby hats for newborns and I have always wanted to do it, but do you think that Jersey Shore would even want them from me? And another question is how many inches round is a newborn head? lol

You should make several hats that are made from hypoallergenic fabric. Try introducing them to the manager at the gift shop and the head nurse of the nursery department.

To answer your second question: buy a baby doll and use it as your head prop.
