I’m due July 23 with my 1st and I know almost NOTHING about babies!

I’ve registered for the basics and the obvious "needed" items, but what item(s) were you surprised to find useful or necessary? Also, any ideas of what misc. items I should register for would be greatly appreciated!

My friend took me to Target today and I was shocked at all the things she had me scanning… I didn’t think babies required that much! LOL I’m so glad she agreed to help me.
These suggestions are great, please keep them coming! I’m glad to say I already have or registered for most of these items, so it’s nice to be reassured that I’m doing okay so far! My friend handed me her boppy and told me it’d become my best friend.
You definitely don’t need everything on the list that Target recommends.

What I find useful:
*breastpump if you work, or will be separated from baby
*a good baby carrier ( http://www.thebabywearer.com )
*a stroller can be handy at times
*a good carseat… I like the Fisher Price Safe Voyage made by Britax
*My Brest Friend or Boppy nursing pillow
*diapers, cloth or disposable
*some clothes, a few blankets, a few burp rags
*LilyPadz breast pads- they are awesome!

That’s all I can think of off-hand.

i would really like for my fiance to be at my baby shower, along with the other men in my family. but most of the women in my family are fussing saying that it’s a "women only" event. i know that used to be how it was, but times have changed so much, is it really that big of a deal? what do you think?

I had the same issue, when I had my baby shower. I guess mostly only women want to go to baby showers, but I see nothing wrong with men going if they want to. My bf and brother were at mine. I say do what you want it’s YOUR baby shower.

as the title says i want to sell some baby blankets that i have made, i also do them to order in all different colours but am stuck as to where i could advertise on the internet. so basically want some ideas i have put them up on ebay in the past but it takes so long for them to reach the top of the listings so does anyone else know any good website? such as a mother and baby one where there is a buy and sell section.

I am an incontinent male so my question is what websites sell cute onesies or adult baby clothes. I am trying to make a halloween costume. And is that appropriate to go out in it in public?

You can always google adult baby clothes; However, veryspecialclothes.com is one website, or www.adultbabyboutique.com is another. I buy my clothing off of ebay, from ab clothing stores on there. I would recommend checking into those first. Try Big Tots and Sybils Store. Hope this helped some!

A savings bond to use for college.

I am putting together a baby shower gift for a friend. It just happens that so far everything I have gotten (blanket, overalls) have all had lions on them. I would love to find a book to tie it all together. Does anyone know of a book that has a lion character in it? Thanks in advance.
Also, I would like something other then the Lion King…. I think the story would go over the head of a really little kid. Thanks!

I am a full time nanny in the metro detroit area of MI for 3 kids all under 6 (but no infants).I do various tasks around the house ( kids laundry and dishes, picking up after them) including feeding the kids and taking them to and from school. I love my job, they treat me very well ( buy me gifts, keep me happy)
I just found out they are expecting a 4th child soon! Should I expect a raise? If so how much? the oldest child will be in full time school by the time the baby is born. I will stil see him on a daily basis for a couple hrs though.
I believe I care for thier children as if they were my own. I truly love them and do everything I can to care for them.

Also, I think the family can afford giving me a raise they live pretty GRAND ( nice things, nice vacations, nice clothes, good job…etc) But they will be having another child too….

how much do you get an hour for taking care of the older children? if you get X amount for older kids who are more self efficent then you should get X amount more for caring for an infant who needs your constant care.

just out of curiosity and fun to all moms , dads, grandparents,aunts ,uncles,caregivers.etc. what has been the hardest baby product for you to find ? And how about for your pets like cats and dogs. i have a chihuahua i sometimes have trouble finding things im looking for for my kids and dog and i know other parents and caregivers experience it too and would just like to know your story. sometimes it seems the simplest thing are hard to find.

I am trying to come up with a business name for a boutique children’s clothing that is handmade. High end clothes for newborns to about 5 year olds. Mostly babies though. I am looking to change my business name and need something catchy. My online business is very successful but I have outgrown my current name.

To give you an idea of my style: Very trendy, snobbish and very european. Beautiful childrens clothing that are made with exceptional care.

But… I need a super cute name that will be memorable.

Any ideas?!
My little online business is very successful but very stale. It is a name that lingered from my other sewing business that I no longer work on and just kept the name because of all the printed forms and business cards. Now that I am only making kids clothes, I really want a name that representative of that. I plan on merging the two slowly, but I need a start.
