I am trying to find a good cuddly doll for my babies Christmas gifts. My twins will be 7 months at Christmas. I am having trouble finding soft, cuddly dolls though. They all have hard plastic faces! Is there a kind out in stores this season that are actually made for babies?

Try looking in the baby department at walmart, instead of the toy department.

This will be my son’s first Christmas. My Husband and I want to get him something for Christmas beside clothing and such. What would be good for his age to play with or enjoy for entertainment?

I’m planning a baby shower and I need some ideas!

Okay, so this holiday season, I know I’m planning on buying American goods. It’s hard but it’s a nice challenge. This is a challenge, to inspire everyone a little bit. I am going to list 3 ‘families’ with personalities. You can choose 1 family (or more) and ‘buy’ gifts for them, but they must be American. *Mom- Joanne- 50 years old- Interior designers- Joanne is an interior designer, and loves anything to do with the home. She likes cooking, and decorating stuff for her home. Joanne especially likes unique, creative items.
*Son- James- 21 years old- College Senior- James is a college senior and is a star athlete. He loves all sports, particularly football, and anything to do with them. He is also a decent student and likes to find new things to help him study.

*Mom- Rhonda- 42 years old- lawyer- like her husband, Rhonda is also a lawyer. She also loves anything to do with her family and job, but is also quite a fashionista. Rhonda loves clothes and accessories but at the same time, likes to look professional.
*Daughter- Rachel- 14 years old- Rachel is into fashion, just like her mom. Rachel loves texting, facebook and reality shows, and anything to do with clothes, shoes, accessories or technology.
*Son- Raymond- 12 years old- Raymond is sort of a geek. He loves seeing how things work, and is really into studying archaeology and dinosaurs.
*Daughter- Riley- 10 years old- Riley has quite an imagination. She loves making things up and is really theatrical. Riley is a great singer and actress and loves anything that she can use to make up stories or plays, or that reflects her talents.
*Grandma- Regina- 73 years old- Regina is a wonderful grandmother who is the homemaker. Regina cooks and cleans the house while Robert and Rhonda are working. She loves her grandkids, and anything to make them happy, including treats and such. She also has quite a collection of ‘I love my grandchildren’ items and loves to add to it.

*Dad- Sam- 34 years old- teacher- Sam is a devoted dad, as well as a traveler and adventurer. Sam loves anything to do with his kids, or anything to make family vacations a little easier.
*Mom- Sarah- 34 years old- Stay at home mother- Sarah is a supermom! She can pack a lunch, while arguing with a 3 year old and feeding a baby. She loves anything to help her clean and cook faster, as she has to take care of her kids at the same time. Sarah never has any ‘me’ time either, so something to help her get some may be nice as well.
*Son- Steven- 7 years old- Steven is into superheros, sports and all little boys things. He loves toys, and doesn’t like clothing. He particularly enjoys outdoor activities and also likes boardgames.
*Daughter- Samantha- 3 years old- Samantha is like a little princess herself, and loves anything girly or princessy. She too enjoys toys more than clothes, although she likes dress up. She is very headstrong
*Daughter- Sienna- 4 months old- Sienna is always in pink and purple. Sarah likes flowery things for her, and anything cute as a button. She shows interest in some toys, mostly stuffed animals, that Sarah can animate to grab her attention.
*Dog- Sparkles- Sparkles is very playful and loves all toys.

ok - i’m picking ‘The Ryan Family’ : D

I have spent my life being adored, loved, and petted. I have been called beautiful, lovely, gorgeous, and perfect. I have been driven to Paris, New York, Guatemala, and Hollywood. I have been fussed over by superstars all over the world. I am on the front covers of People, Star, Ok, and Cat Fancy. I have met the President of the United States, Guam, and Iraq; the Queen of England; and the rulers of Germany and France. I have been onstage with Brittney Spears, Angelina Jolie, the Jonas Brothers, Brad Pitt, and Beyonce. I have modeled clothing from Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, Ralph Lauren and Liz Claborne. I have eaten foods from around the world: calamari, caviar, and fried chicken liver with a pinch of salt, nutmeg, and lemon flavoring (just the way I like it).
Many adoring fans watch me as a wake, eat, sleep, dress, and walk. People photographers watch day in and day out for a small mishap, like having liver all over my face after looking up from my silver and pink monogrammed and specially engraved diamond bowl with the cute little emerald bows on the side or tripping on my chocolate brown dress with the long train and falling on the ground, messing my dress and freshly groomed hair. I must say, it is rather tiring to be famous, not that it is not fun, of course. But I must draw the line somewhere. Just yesterday I was reading in Tiger Beat, a teen magazine that is mostly about teen stars, that I was the most famous cat in the whole world. Now, the “most famous” part I do not mind, but being called a cat is not satisfactory, especially not after a huge breakfast of deviled eggs, and warm muffins. Just because I have to look up at people and have a lighter color of hair than most (it’s, like, almost white) does not mean I am a quote un-quote “a cat”. Where do they get this stuff? That’s, like, almost as bad as being called a midget. See what I have to put up with day after day?
I have never looked in a mirror or at any of my pictures. I find it quite alarming how it turns my energy way down and I can never focus on my work. I mean, one time I looked in the mirror before a show and got the biggest shock of my life. Whoever had dressed me had done a really good job at decking me out for Halloween because I looked like a cat….a cat wearing my blue sequined mini. I have to say I took no time in calling my agent and firing the woman that thought it was funny to dress me in a Halloween costume before I was about to do a show. Just to tell you, that night, I was so upset, I almost spilled my double chocolate chip frappicino and I only get one of those a year (my agent thinks I will get to high on sugar and die, poor dear). After that small setback in my career I promised myself, no more pictures, no more mirrors, no more reflections in pools. I do not need to get myself overworked before a show.
Today, I have my biggest show yet. My agent and I are going to speak at Idol Gives Back, a “helpful” version of the much famous American Idol. I totally have to wear my new strapless dress. First of all it is purple, the color of royalty and second it makes be look about three years older. My agent and I travel all over the world talking about the time I saved the Prime Minister of China from eating poison liver(yawn), the time I saved Anne Hathaway from choking on a overly huge sour grape(no big, honestly), and the time I saved Dakota Fanning from a burning house(now that was cool). My agent has to do all the talking for me due to a birth effect that leaves me squeaking like a baby when I try to talk. I have trained my agent on exactly what to say and when to pause to let my jump in. Normally, I would let my agent do all the talking, but the audience loves it when I jump in with my own opinion. It doesn’t really matter what I say, just that I say something (I usually just limit myself to one word at each pause). Yet, I still do not see why there is the resounding “Awwwwwwww” that follows each word I utter.
Today is the day. It is November 13, and after a two-year boycott, I have decided to look in a mirror. I mean, I am only going to meet the new president. I honestly cannot trust my make-up artists to make me look as fabulous as a can be. I must look in a mirror. I have dressed my best today. My navy-blue sailor suit looks beautiful with my white rain boots (they actually look good) and my hair is styled to perfection with little navy hair clips. Nothing can go wrong. I might even suggest to my make-up artist that I should wear a little mascara that my agent always wears, or maybe some lipstick.
I am totally closing my eyes as I walk up to the mirror. I know my agent and make-up artist are right behind me but I am still nervous. My nose touches the mirror and I make a mental reminder to ask my make-up artist for a face-lift or a nose job, my nose is just to flat. I hear my agent counting down behind me. Three…Two…One…I open my eyes and…see a cat. I spin around, blink, then
look back in the mirror, the cat is still their. Maybe I’m losing it. It is nowhere near Halloween and I watched my make-up artist carefully as she helped dress me. My agent scratches my head and I understand in terror that I am a cat. I am a cat… that means I have to start using a litter box, eating cat food, and going out without cute outfits. I break free of my agents grasp and run to my ruby encrusted Mac book. I carefully go to the Internet. I must research right away, causes that turn a perfectly famous person into a cat. Do you know what this means. I can never leave the house again. I am no longer a short person with a strange birth defect, now I am a cat. I must go curl up in my pink and yellow plush bed and think about these strange happenings.

I don’t know about that, but I know that almost oil works just fine as lube and is safe.

I have a 20 month old girl and I am just wondering what other moms and dads are planning to spend this year on their little ones. I have a huge family that is going to buy tons of gifts for her, so I don’t want to go overboard, but I want to get something memorable for her. I just bought a rocking horse that I am going to have set up on christmas morning, but otherwise I don’t think I will buy much else. I just want to know what other parents are planning to do for their toddlers (just for fun). Thanks!

My husband and I agreed about this before our son was even born. Every Christmas he will get ONE present from mum and dad. It will be something really good, and something he really wants but one only. We have also decided that when he gets a bit older we will take him shopping for a present for a boy his age that he will wrap and put under the giving tree at our local shopping mall.

i was determined to give her a golden earring for the baby if she’s a girl,but now he’s turned to be a boy.
and of course i won’t bring him gold.
then what do you suggest?

a bottle of perfume, a nightie , a necklace , etc

If you bought your older kids a gift from the new baby, to ease the transition… did you give it to them when they went to the hospital to see the baby or when you all got home?
OMG, I just reread that. I meant gifts FOR siblings FROM the new baby.

My 2 yr wants a "pedal" ( a bicycle) every time we go to the store and he sees one. They are about 30$ so we decided in a couple of months he will be big enough to ride it really good and that is what we are going to get to say his baby brother got him. We are going to buy it before I go into the hospital and put it up and when we come home we are going to bring it out and say OOO LOOK WHAT CHASE GOT YOU! …. I am not sure if the present thing works but I was told by many people to get him something from the baby to make things a little easier. I guess I will see if it really works soon … Good luck

I have a 8week old baby who is already out of newborn and almost 0-3mo clothes. Also, his bassinet won’t be in use pretty soon because he is sleeping in his crib. What do most people do with their clothes and items when they can’t use them anymore? I don’t know anyone having a boy. All my things are boyish. Feedback would be great. Thanks

I hang on to some of them. And one of my best friends has a 5 month old so a lot of the old, gently used stuff goes to her.

We have a really good deal worked out. When her 2 year old outgrows stuff, it goes to our 13 month old. And when our daughter outgrows them, they go to her 5 month old. And she’s holding onto the stuff for in case I ever have another baby.
