I saw a poem online a while ago for a baby shower invite insert it was a cute little poem about wanting to receive children’s books as a gift to the baby…anyone have any idea where I can find it…
Here;s one. I google "Baby shower books gift"
I have a 14 month old. he loves anything with a steering wheel, cars….etc. Do you think the Whisper Ride Buggy would make a good christmas present for him?
I think it would make a good gift for him if he likes things like that.
Did you ask the hostess for one or did she give you one without your asking (assuming you like keepsakes)?
I guess what I should really ask is - should I ask her for one? She already sent them out.
Ahh yes. I just took one, didn’t really "get" one.
I have a friend who is having her first baby. I just could not figure out what I really like or use often with my daughter.
She is a young mom so I wanted to put some thought to her baby shower gift. I am already giving her a gift card for target.. so something under $50 gift on top of it is my limit.
any ideas? what is your unique item that you absolutely love?
Mommy hook! That’s so funny! I have one too and I love it… keeps everything hanging when shopping. hahaha… maybe I should buy her that and something else. =)
a stress ball

My triplets are 3, and their friend has a bitty baby and they’re all in love. Normally I wouldn’t hesitate to give them that as a Christmas gift, but I’d have to buy three and they don’t come cheap. Would you:
- buy one bitty baby and one set of bitty twins (saving a little bit of money)
- try and scope them out on eBay?
- not buy them at all?
- or avoid potential breakdowns and order them from AG?
I had never heard of these dolls, so I checked the website. They’re really charming. They remind me of the dolls I had when I was a child. They were French ones made by Corolle (http://www.corolle.com/). They still make some good ones, but unfortunately I haven’t seen any as beautiful as the two I had back then.
Your dolls may be expensive, but a beautiful doll like that is kept forever. I still have my Corolle dolls and I’m 24 now. I actually remember when I got the last one at Christmas. She was so beautiful, I couldn’t believe it.
I am choosing to be surprised with the gender of my child. We will be leaving the room unpainted and unfurnished until after the baby is born. While we ready the nursery, the baby will sleep in a bassinet in our room. For the baby shower, what do I ask for as gifts?
Generally, you get ONE baby shower - no matter how many children or the genders. The "big" stuff (furniture, strollers, car seat, etc) should be gender-neutral. That way you can use it no matter what the child’s gender and you can also use it for future children. You can register for this stuff.
Will you be breastfeeding or bottle feeding? You can register for supplies for either.
Swings, high chairs, jumpers, etc are generally gender-neutral items.
Do you have an idea for what you’d like to do with the child’s room? Will you be going "all-out" pink or blue? You could pick some neutral (beige, tan, yellow, green, whatever) sheet sets and such.
I’ve been to quite a few showers for a yet-unidentified child. It’s basically the same as a boy/girl shower…with a lot less clothes.
We named our first baby girl, Solace. I adore the meaning and the name. Obviously it’s unique. I’d love to have another "word" name that’s different but not extremely weird, but can’t think of anything. Things that are common like Grace, Faith and Joy aren’t really options. My husband would never go for something so used. I guess I’m looking for nice meaning names that are under used such as Solace. Any ideas from people with big vocabularies?
Chavi….The meaning of the name is Life- The origin is Hebrew
Chaya …The meaning of the name is Life-The origin is Hebrew- Pronounced "KAI-ya"
We have a Christening to go to tomorrow afternoon and we have no idea what to give as a gift. It is my husband’s cousin’s baby, we only see this cousin at weddings and other family rare occasions. We have been told money is a good gift but we are newlyweds and don’t have all that much to spare. Is $25 alright to give or should we try to give more? any suggestions??
I think $25 is enough. If they have asked for money then I’d give them money. Theres only so many piggy banks and silver spoons a baby can have.

I’ve drawn names from a hat for 5 of my nieces and nephews… ages 6 months (boy), 18 months (girl) 3 year old (boy)… then also a 13 year old and a 12 year old, both girls.
The rules are: it has to fit in the child’s stocking and there’s a $15 price limit per child…
I’d love ideas and suggestions for all ages, but especially those babies!
