Sweet Baby Gifts

Hi! My fiance and I have been asked to be godparents to my yet-to-be-born baby cousin. We know he a is a boy but we don’t want to get him the traditional baby gifts like clothes, etc. Please don’t suggest money or any religious items as we will get him something religious at his Baptism. Any suggestions that you may have are very much appreciated as we really want to buy him something special and a little different. Thanks so much!

I would try "all-a-dollar" which you have to go to the store (unlewss you can order online", or even ebay!! I love ebay so much… you can search ebay and than click the box where it will show you only items with "free shipping so all you have to pay is the price you bid… thats what I do and love it!!

How about left over items from the baby registry? Diapers and wipes are always greatly appreciated as well as baby wash and lotions. They also have gist certificates for formulas and diapers, you could look into that. Depending on how old she will be when you see her, maybe a gift basket of baby foods, especially nice organic kinds like Earth’s best or something. Even if she doesn’t use it right away it still will be good when she starts solids in a few months and its one less thing the parents will have to buy and is completely useful. I would have loved one my own self!

There are no essential branded products for anyone of any age. Babies in particular couldn’t care less how trendy the labels on their equipment and clothes are.

My friend had a baby shower that I helped her with and I gave her baby gifts at that time. She just had a baby and I am planning to visit her soon. Am I supposed to take another gift since I am meeting the baby for first time? I don’t think I need to be spending on gift again after giving her a very nice present at the shower. But, do I show up empty handed or take some fruits? Suggestions please!!
