I’m in Tucson, AZ for a week and my wife and 8 month old daughter are at home. I’d like to get them a little something (doesn’t have to be related gifts)…. Can anyone help me out with a good idea? I’d appreciate it!
If your wife is a plant person you could get a small cactus from a plant shop there. I have a neat green and red one that sits in the window of my kitchen and it takes very little care. Jewelry always works too! I bet a local gift shop there sells Tucson onsies for your little girl. If you wanted them to know you are thinking of them I bet you could arrange for a floral shop in your hometown to deliver flowers to them with something sweet written in the card. I hope this helps!!!
Currently, i have an online shop. But the sales is not that fantastic. How do I increase my sales and the shop awareness to more people??
blogs?
My health visitor just told me that new information advises against swaddling newborns as it hampers their startle reflex and when they are too cosy they are less likely to rouse when necessary. I always assumed the opposite with swaddling, that it was beneficial and comforting to the baby. I tried a gro-bag as she suggested but now baby won’t settle at night. Anyone else been given this new advice?
Some babies like to be swaddled, some hate it. Just do whatever your baby likes.
I’ve never heard of this before but honestly I don’t know of any babies that swaddling has ever harmed. Have you?
I swear, sometimes I think doctors are trying to confuse new moms with an overload of information.
We have been having babies forever. Until now no one ever needed a "gro-bag" . What the heck is that anyway?
In the middle ages they used bands wrapped around the baby’s body because they thought that the arms and legs would out come out of socket or break if the baby moved to much. Crazy huh? I bet some doctor started that too.
We just found out we’re having a girl and we’re going shopping for a few things tomorrow, and I was wondering what you recommend buying? I’ve heard bibs, mittens, and some clothes but I don’t know what "some clothes" really refers to and what sizes I should get. Help?
buy anything that u would get for the babies sex. ie. - clothes, sheets, cot, pram, etc.
Cloths for bubs u should get some all in ones. newborn size, then the next size up get a few of them, and some cute outfits for baby in newborn and next few sizes up.
My baby NEVER spat up so no, not personally.
It is my mother’s birthday this weekend and I want to do something special for her that is specifically from my 7 month old son. Obviously, he can’t actually do anything or make anything himself but I am trying to think of something creative. I will most likely make a card and say it’s from him and maybe trace his hand on the card or something but any other ideas?
Trace his hands or put them in ink and "stamp" them onto paper-you could write "When a Baby is Born, So is a Grandmother" or something like that.
My friend just had her son, I havent seen her in like a month, because life has kept up crazy busy but we still talk often! I worked at a daycare with her and her 6yr old daughter LOVED me. I had to resign at the daycare, and didnt get a chance to even say goodbye to any of the children! Her daughter especially took it really hard, I am going into the hospital and want to surprise both momma and her daughter with little gifts for each and her new son! I need ideas to get for a momma that just had her baby, a new big sister and the new little boy! HELP. little ideas anything that comes off the top of your head. would be great! (:
Thanks in Advance! (:
It may be cheezy but I like coordinating with my kids, so if someone got me and my kids matching shirts (and they don’t have to be the exact same style, just either similar or very close in color) I would totally love it. Anything personalized is also fantastic like a blanket for the new baby and maybe even a little blanket for the 6-year-old that says Big Sister on it. Hope this helps!
I am wanting to make a BIG basket for my sisters baby shower gift. I need some ideas of things to put in it… I want it to be a great basket, I don’t want it to be boring….
Condoms! LOL
My wife and I jus found out she is six weeks pregnant the day of her last menstrual period was July 2nd and the what to expect website said she would be due April 8th. I would judt like to know how accurate this due date is and can we start baby shopping even if it’s for unisex stuff.
I have had two girls and with each pregnancy, I waited until at least the 2nd trimester to start shopping. This was because if something happened, I would not have anything around to remind me of the baby.
Didn’t the doctor tell your wife when she was due? Oh, maybe you have not been to the doctors yet. It would be a good idea to get an appointment right away.
For those who have friends who are having kids, what would make it easier for you to get them a gift? A wish list from them? A guide about what new parents need? A "baby" consultant
? Is it even a pain point to get the baby a unique gift, or do you find the whole deal pretty straightforward?
Thanks.
I don’t like to pick out gifts anymore, its either wrong size, or they don’t like it, or exchanges, and the list goes on. I have been giving gift certificates to a store that they person likes. It’s easier on me if they get what they want. I won’t buy the bank gift certificates because they charge. As far as books Borders would carry lots of child raising.
