Christians are extremely careful pussy-footing some hard core Bible stupidities! Hardly any of them pay attention to what they read in the Bible and those who do need to have a "GUIDE" of some sort or even years of Bible schooling! The rest of them feel that the Bible interprets itself and that THE ANSWER IS SOMEWHERE ELSE IN THE BIBLE to catch on later. It is incredible what the Bible writers did on any of us needing religion to function in this world! BTW, I became totally liberated from all the Bible crap after serving most of my life in the Christian ministry!
On abortion Christians TOTALLY IGNORE what the Bible says. There is a strong political/religious movement in this country biasing the direction that people ought to take on social issues regardless of what the Bible says on abortion, the fetus, stem cells and same sex marriages, and so on! Politics come first! We need as many right wing WASP babies as we can get!
Saint Paul was preaching that “in Adam” ALL DIE and go to Hell. Christians believe that all humans automatically go to Hell as soon as they cross the age of accountability unless they “receive Jesus in their heart.” If they die before then, they go to Heaven with no questions asked! This doctrine brings up an interesting point in the PRO-CHOICE battle that hardly any Christian at large cares to think about. The soul of a fetus that is aborted, or a stem cell that dies goes automatically to Heaven! But if left alone the fetus or stem cell will eventually give birth to a person who can grow past the age of accountability and go to Hell for failure to “receive Jesus”! Most grown up people REJECT the claims of Jesus or follow the wrong brand of the Christian faith so they are never “saved” and will go to Hell to be tormented for ever and ever for the amusement of Jesus aka “The LAMB” and the “saved” Christians who made it to heaven…! (Rev. 14:10-11)
According to the Bible, the abortion clinics are sending far more souls to HEAVEN to be with Jesus than ALL THE CHRISTIAN missionaries and preachers of every Christian brand put together! Christians believe that Jesus loves the little children of the world, not they also add the fetuses and stem cells! Christians claim that life begins at conception with full US constitutional rights! Jesus says that THEIRS is the Kingdom of Heaven, but the Pro-lifers are denying Jesus this pleasure! The absurdity of the Christian religion knows no limit. Theologically speaking, Christians are sending more people to HELL than if they permitted necessary abortions! The evil and the unnecessary pain and suffering that the Christians impose on the ladies in need of an abortion is consistent with the Bible God’s sadistic character of killing children righ and left!
God couldn’t care less about the fetuses! In fact, BY LAW OF GOD the fetus needs to be destroyed together with the promiscuous or “sinful” woman who resulted pregnant because of being raped or having had sex with anybody other than her husband! Only the lucky Virgin Mary got away letting a perfect stranger like the Archangel Saint Gabriel take her for a pregnancy ride of some sort with God the Holy Ghost! BTW, in the OT days one of the ancestor ladies of Jesus Christ “played the harlot” with her own father in law! A few months later it was discovered that she was pregnant and Judah gave order to have her BURNED ALIVE on the spot! Never mind the fetus! And never mind that this same SOB of Judah enjoyed the best sex in his life with her! She survived only because of her shrewdness. The Bible writers demand that a jealous husband get an induced abortion on his pregnant wife ANYTIME he suspects that she has been impregnated by another man (Num 5:11-31). Forcing a miscarriage on a woman just for the heck of it is a depravity that ONLY discreet preachers read in the Bible for their own private amusement! And GOD wants the husband to do this test on his wife ANYTIME he suspects that her pregnancy is not related to him! If the woman AND HER FETUS survive the toxic potion that she is drinking she is innocent, otherwise she will get sick and abort the fetus. Praise the LORD! Sweet Jesus! Not even witchcraft potions are this strong! The Bible writers made this male chauvinistic rule to show that God can’t care less about the fetus! Babies are "gifts" from God only if you want them and can care for them.
For example, they are not gifts for junkies. These women cannot care for them until they get their own lives in order plus they potentially live w/ the guilt of having a drug addicted baby. Some may want the child. Others do not.
Only in the rare incidence where the mother uses the pregnancy as an opportunity to get straight is it a gift but even in this case it is not a gift or even a fair shake for the child. Detox can be very hard on a developing fetus and the likelihood of poverty for mother and child is high.

I would tend to agree that babies are a gift from God. It allows us to obviously continue the species…not sure that is always good, but we were put here on Earth to procreate.
Whether Ms. Palin and Mr. Johnston decide to remain together as a family unit or not is rather immaterial. God gave us free choice - they freely chose to engage in unprotected premarital sexual relations. They were blessed with a child - compare that to Abraham and Sarah who tried for years and years to have a child. Yes, He had a purpose for withholding that from Abraham. There may well be a purpose here: to try to educate people from doing the same thing.
Out of wedlock births have been going on for years and years…this is simply a more high profile instance.
Obviously, to me, he is a jerk and does want to accept responsibility for his actions. True, she went along with the thought of having sex. She, on the other hand, is apparently a more responsible individual who has decided to go full term and have the baby rather than abort it, as some would have wished.
We have so few good role models for the kids these days…
