Okay, I know this may sound silly but I’m not sure when the right time is to register and how many places can I register? I don’t want to seem rude. Which I guess no one would really have to know anyway unless I told them. Correct?
Anytime you want. You may want to start a bit early,at a month if not two months before your shower invitations go out. So you can list where you are registered on your invitations and so you have enough to time to edit and really figure out what you want on it. I had two registries. One at Target and one at Wal-mart. Most of the stuff was on my Target registry and that is the one most people bought from.
When is it proper to register for baby gifts?

There is no right or wrong answer to this. It is your pregnancy and your baby. You should do it as soon, or as late as you feel like. Beware though, if done too late could cause you to get gifts you may not want.

I was about 6 months. I would say anytime after you find out the gender. If you want that to be a suprise. Do it after 20 weeks.

I registered at 22 weeks. I found out what I was having at 19 weeks, but my husband and I took a little time to talk over the themes and things we liked and didn’t before we got to the store. We registered at Babies R Us and Target. We were going to register at Walmart but we live in a small town and the Walmart here doesn’t do in store registries, lol. I don’t think it’s rude to do several different stores, more like helpful because I know not everyone could afford the things we liked at Babies R Us and Target was much cheaper on some things.
And no, they wouldn’t really know unless you told them or they tried to look you up. I had distant family look me up at Babies R Us to see if I was registered when I didn’t even know they knew I was pregnant.
