Im 30 weeks pregnant! And got TONZ of baby clothes and blankets from people. So much so that its over whelming actually. They are all just thrown in the closet in the babies room. I know that your spoussed to wash the clothes and blankets before baby uses them but when should I do that? is it to early to start organzing his clothes or should I just do. Kind of a lame question but I dont want to do things to soon because then i will have to re-do it later.
I started at about your stage in my pregnancy. I was too excited to wait any longer and just started putting together my sons room. I washed everything and put it in its place with my favorites on top so I would use those first. I also packed and re packed my hospital bag so many times. I didn’t use hardly anything I took to the hospital either. But you definatly want to be prepared. You do not want to come home from the hospital and have laundry to do. You never know even with a very well pregnancy if you are going to deliver early or late. I had a breeze of a pregnancy and I went 3 weeks early. So its best to be prepared.
when to wash and put away baby clothes/blankets?

You can do it now if you want. Better to be done with it now so you can relax the rest of your pregnancy

I did it at 32 weeks because it was after my baby shower so I actually had the stuff to do it. Then I put them in large storage bags so they didn’t get dusty. I put them all away a few days before my due date. Make sure you use unscented detergent and skip on the fabric softener, it can be harsh on a newborn baby’s skin. I just use unscented dryer sheets to deal with the static.

i didnt wash anything first- but if you want to- do it after baby is born, and only a few items at a time as needed. reason is baby may not wear everything, or may be too big for newborn sizes, etc. if you wait, then you will be able to return items or exchange if you still have the tags on it.
i just put everything away in drawers or hung up according to size, then got out the next size as she outgrew the first. congrats to you!

I started washing mine around 30 weeks. It is nice to know it is done and I don’t have to worry about it closer to my due date.

I would go ahead and start washing them! I ended up doing 9 super loads of baby clothes, blankets, etc and was so happy and relieved to have it done afterwards. Get some rubber maid tubs and place the bigger clothes in those and store either at the top of the closet or on the floor. This gives you more room for newborn, 3-6 month clothing. Find a basket for the baby socks, one for baby hats. I placed crib sheets in with out regular sheets in the hallway linen closet. I stacked the blankets neatly on the closet floor or if you have a shelf in the closet that would work great. I hung up only onesies and shirts. Pants/shorts/overalls were placed in a drawer to help with putting laundry away when baby came. Also, PJs had their own drawer also. I placed my bibs and burp clothes in the kitchen for easy reach.

I would go ahead and do it now therefore you know it is done and you don’t have to rush to do it. Do it now while you still have energy! I washed all my stuff as soon as there had been a shower for me (around 32 weeks). I had a few big loads, so it was nice to have it done and out of the way so everything was ready when the baby came. If you’re worried about them not staying fresh, place them in large bags, sorted by size, and seal them tightly. Then take out what you need closer to the due date. That’s what I did and they still smelled nice and clean when the baby arrived.

You can do it now, just make sure you have good storage. If you don’t, then try it after some time.
Now that it is easier for you to do that, don’t wait for tomorrow. You better spend your next days wondering about your baby’s name and how to spend more time with him
Do daily exercise dear, the ones that fit you.
Spend your time, looking for healthy, natural food lots of fruits and water. These will help you in your labor

Better do them ASAP, put them away, and be done with it, less thing for you to worry about.
Better than last minute thing, when you are rushing to the hospital and worrying about other stuff.
