Usually, the Godmother buys the Christening outfit…the Godfather buys a gold cross for the baby.

I didn’t think there was any hard and fast rule, but I think something that he can keep and pass onto his children would be nice. You can get some lovely baby/children’s cutlery of very good quality. I have a beautiful set that my mother bought for my youngest daughter that will last a few lifetimes. Also Baptism mugs are often given with the baby’s name DOB and date of Baptism.
