I’m not sure what kind of things a new-born baby needs?
Do they need bottles? What if they’re breast fed, I don’t know which?
Do they use pacifiers yet?
Teething rings?
What are some products that will help out the Baby Daddy with his Baby?
The present is for my Brother and his Baby, and I’m not sure what kind of gifts are going to be useful?
Also, any unique ideas would be appreciated too

extra crib sheets (you can never have enough especialy when they wet threw the diaper) yes pacifires, lots of them they get lost easy. not teathing rings yet, yes bottles if she plans on pumping, baby swing, car seat covers (for the cold days) music toys anything that lights up and sings will keep baby entertained. COFFEE!!! (not for baby) baby bath tub, a nice gift would be to go get a gift card for a place that takes baby pics so he can have them done.

Must have items that many parents forget:
diaper cream
mylicon or other gas drops
dreft
Other cute ideas:
a baby book
a keepsake box (like something nice you can get engraved) that they can keep all the baby keepsakes
a journal for the parents to keep/ write in to give the baby when he/she’s older
–Do they have a registry at Target or somewhere similar? That may help you out to find some items they really need. They may need bottles, but the hospital gave us several pacifiers so, that was something we definitely didn’t need from people. Teething rings are needed until later, too.

Besides all the basics (diapers, wipes, creams, pacifiers, etc.), my very highly recommended NECESSARY item, especially for this season would be a Bundle Me by JJCole. They are deliciously warm and cozy and come in lots of nice color choices. You can use them in any car seat and carriage as well. (I have both sizes and one to match my carriages and car seats) Actually, their whole line is awesome when it comes to necessities - pretty and practical at the same time.
Something fun to throw in (if they use pacifiers) would be the "Lots To Say Baby" pacifiers with funny comments on them.
Daddy bags are all the rage now and lots of bag companies started making ones geared specifically to them. A good choice is the Skip Hop Bags - they are not cumbersome and look good on mom or dad.
Another really cool gift is a video monitor. Good choice is the Mobi Cam (you can actually hook it up to the internet - with an additional purchase- and see your baby from your office or the like)
