I need second baby shower gift ideas please!?

My close friend is having a baby shower for her second baby to come who will also be a girl. So clothes and toys are absolutely pointless as she has everything. I’m totally out of ideas and have a budget of 100 at most. She hasn’t made a registry either.

Please help. Thanks in advance!

DIAPERS!! I just had my 2nd baby-another boy- and already had everything really I needed from my 1st baby. I wasn’t planning on having a shower, but my best friend surprised me with one. (yay!) The best gifts I received were diapers. I got loads of them in different sizes. And wipes too. One of my friends got me a HUGE 230 count box of size 1-2 diapers and a HUGE box of wipes (I assume at Sam’s club) and it has come in so handy.

Your friend won’t need that many newborn size diapers, but she will need some. I used probably 100 newborn size diapers until my baby grew out of them. He’s 5 weeks old now and I am using size 1 diapers.

If you have a Costco card, the Kirkland diapers (Costco’s brand) are AWESOME. Very soft and very absorbant. I can’t recommend those enough.

Another gift idea to go along with diapers is a baby record book. I got this one(they make them in different colors for girls if you prefer) and LOVE it:

I would also think about getting this baby her very own blanket. I don’t know why, but blankets seem so nice to me; everyone child should have a special blanket.

Have fun!!!

I think in these cases where people want a second shower even though their children are the same sex its really best to either do a diaper shower, or a library shower (everyone brings their favorite childhood book for the babies library) or if instead of gifts they say "No gifts but if you’d like to make a donation to __________________ it is greatly appreciated".

She doesn’t NEED more stuff, but I do understand wanting a baby shower- its a fun thing to do and look forward to. But you need to be reasonable too- people don’t want to buy the same old baby gifts when they know she already has stuff from her first daughter.

I find it strange when people have showers for the second or more child and it’s the same gender as the last.
Anyhow, diapers and wipes are always good to have. Bottles? Maybe something little and big sister themed.

    GIFT CARDS!!!!!!!

My sister and sister in law are having another shower and my sister in laws is tomorrow and her other son is ONLY almost 2! I think it’s totally stupid she is having another shower! What more can you need OMG! I am just getting her a gift card for Babies R Us. My sister on the other hand, he son will be 5 in October, so she has had a large enough space that I think she can get updates in strollers etc, w/o it being too bad, or bad taste.

I was actually thinking about this the other day as we are TTC. I sure wouldn’t throw a baby shower but would not be so stubborn as not to accept a shower if one was thrown for me. As I was thinking I thought a diaper party would be the most acceptable. Stock up on older sized diapers like 3 and 4 as they tend to stay in those longer and tend to be more expensive. But I also don’t know how old her other child is. What will she need two of now? Car seat, highchair/booster chair, mini stroller, new mattress (if other child is still sleeping on the other one) (pay for part?). It doesn’t have to be something that will be used right away but something down the road. Maybe get a package for professional pictures for the girls together.

Everyone appreciates diapers and wipes, and gift cards are nice too :)
Buy or make a platter of cute food to serve at the shower is a good idea too.
Maybe new towels for the baby or a gift for the mother instead like a new top or bath stuff for when she gets time to relax. A coffee house gift card or Subway gift card would be nice… I know I’d love that

what i did for my sister was made an "emergancy basket". things that people would think of, and she probably wouldnt think to buy.
Things like - Baby panadol, A pacifier, - just a basket of little things that nobody ever thinks of :) she loved it.

Or Stock up on the things she will need. Like nappies, baby wipes, baby shampoo and soaps, things like that.

Get her some baby towels and face washers. Or even blankets, cot sheets.

Or you could make 2 baskets, one for the mom, one for the baby. i always find it a very sweet and thoughtful idea as most people buy it all for the baby.
in the babies basket you could put things like, shampoos, lotion, baby oil, face washers, Soap, etc.
And in the mums basket you could put things like massage oil, coffee (she’ll need it with two kids lol), stretch mark lotion, magazines or a book, maybe even a photo album (to put photos of baby #2 in), or photo frames.

Or an idea I seen on here a few weeks ago, is.. someone bad coupons for there best friend. Like she made a coupon book and gave it to her. Things you could put in there are…
"Good for one free Cooked meal"
"Good For An hr of playing with the kids so you can nap"
"Good for a house clean" And things like that.
You could design the coupons very nicely and more personal if you like. even on each coupon have a saying about a "new baby" or cute baby qoutes.

    Good luck.

A diaper cake is the perfect gift to give at any shower. You can buy them online or make one yourself. Both options would be under 100$. Check out http://www.baby-showers.net/diaper-cake-how-to.html for directions on how to make one. There are even a few links on where to buy pre-made ones.

Another good gift for a second child is a nice collection of books. Little kids are often hard on books, so the ones they have may not last for the second baby.
