It’s a good idea. What you give isn’t really important, as long as it comes from your heart. C=

seeing as you asked to be honest…….
i think the gesture is really nice, but realistically it is sooooo cheesy and i personally would hate it. simply cos if you are wearing it it is there for everyone to see, around your neck, where as the ring is very discreet, also boys don’t really like being as open and public about relationships as girls do, would he wear it? maybe its just the "my baby" "my angel" part, but i think it sounds tacky.
something a bit more subtle would be more my thing.

    Hi **j3nny**,

I agree with those who said the tag makes a good gift idea as they are very popular right now, but I also agree with woohoo that your boyfriend may not be as thrilled wearing it as you are. Guys tend to shy away from wearing ‘girlfriend branding’ and he would probably not wear it when out with his friends. When getting dog tags it is very important to make them special to the recipient. For example, we had a girl get one for her boyfriend with a dragon engraved on the front which was meaningful to him, and her basic text on the back. This way he would be happy to wear it in public.

If you are looking for his & hers tags, I recommend finding something that you both like (favorite saying, image of something meaningful to you both, favorite song lyric, etc.) to put on the front of them. If the tag is meaningful to his interests he will be more comfortable wearing it. Then, on the back, put a meaningful message. "My Angel" or "My Baby" will probably make him very uncomfortable unless you usually call him this in public, in front of his friends, and he is OK with it. If not, consider being a bit more conservative. Dog tags are fairly visible so whatever you choose just be aware of his comfort in wearing it. Hope this helps.
