A personalized piggy bank with his name on it filled with some dollar gold coins to start OR just the personalized piggy bank with one coin (for good luck) and a book or two?
How about both? I would personally go with the books.

For my children I received little piggy banks that were empty and I filled with a roll each of pennies nickels dimes and quarters all from the year of birth. Depending on the size of the piggy jar thats what I would do. Fill it with rolls of coins from the year of birth.
Also if he is your newest nephew because he was just born books probably wouldn’t be best. I would talk to babies mom and see what she needs help with. Diapers make a great gift LOL.
