What baby gift would you rather have someone offset the cost of for you?

I’m looking for a gift for my little sister. It is her first baby and they have faced some hardships recently and so I know that they are not going to be able to afford everything they need for their baby. What item, either one big thing or multiple items, would you have wanted someone to step in and pay for?
They have health insurance and all that so they don’t have to worry about the actual cost of having a baby in itself as much as they do about getting everything that they need.

Car seat. Most of the other baby stuff is optional, but if they are ever in a car (and really, who isn’t?) they need a carseat. She can breastfeed, and co-sleep, and use cloth diapers and hand-me-downs, but a good carseat is essential. I’d get a good convertible seat, that they won’t have to replace until the kid is like 5. (I have two Evenflo Triumph Advance DLX seats that I love.)

My parents, Sister and In Laws all went in together and bought our sons crib and changing table, It was a HUGE help! We really appreciated it and took a lot of stress off of us because we had just bought a house and had tons of extra costs we didn’t think about

Depends on how hard up she is, all I know is that the biggest gift I could have had when I had my first would have been a HUGE supply of diapers. I know it sounds silly but all joking aside, infant diapers are pretty expensive and not having to worry about it for a while would have put my mind at ease.

A college education fund. Babies actually do not need more then half the stuff we buy for them. I would have appreciated some money set aside for her future. I can afford the present but I have no idea what the future holds so having some money set aside for it would be great.

Well, just some things that i really needed was, numerous bottles, baby swing (when she was really fussy this would pass her out), baby tub, car seat, boppy, even helpful to just get like a few tubs of formula if she’s not breastfeeding..just a little head start..that stuff is SO expensive. Diapers and wipes! : )
