I Have a $50 Gift Card to Babies R US and I’m 32 Weeks With Twins, Is It Too Early to Buy Diapers or Wipes?

Should I wait and see the size of the babies before I buy diapers and buy something else I’ll need?

i suggest wait on the diapers–get what else you may need

Thy will always need newborn diapers! Everytime I got a gift card I debated what to buy with it. Actually I haven’t bought diapers yet, they are all from gifts!

If your having twins they will be smaller normally so buy newborn diapers but don’t open the package. If it turns out you need size one you can exchange them. Also I recommend huggies wipes because they are thicker and you will use less of them.

We started buying diapers when we were in the 2nd trimester. i just bought 2 packs of newborns and the rest size 1 or 2. If you buy them too big you can always use them later and If you have huge babies you can always exchange for a bigger size. You can never have enough diapers.

most babies are small and need to have the newborn size diapers. both of my boys were 8 lbs and they were in newborn size.. in fact my one month old is still in newborn size… I don’t think that it is to early to go and get some… you never know when a baby will come and I would rather have the basic necessities at home instead of needing to run out to the store on the way home from the hospital.

Nope, not too early. When my twins were newborns we were going through 24 diapers between them every 24 hours. Buy some newborn size diapers. Unless you’re a very tall person chances are your twins will be in NB size at the beginning. My twins were 6 & 7 lbs when they were born and they were in NB for a few weeks. All the nurses in the hospital said they were pretty big for twins.

    No, not at all!

We just had twins born at 36 weeks. They stayed in preemie for about 2 weeks, and we lived off what the hospital gave us. I’d buy one big box of newborn and one box of size ones. Wipes won’t dry out, so you can get as many as you need.

I would suggest that you get them now for sure. No matter how big the babies are they will more than likely be in newborn diapers and in the beginning you will not have that much time to run to the store and get them. I only had one and it was hard. I would stock up with as many "tools" as you can now, it will make it less stressful. I would also suggest Huggies as they are the only ones that worked for me. All of the other ones leaked for me. Good luck and congrats. :-)

it is never to early to start stocking up on diapers. buy newborn, keep your receipts and if you need to you can return for bigger size….but trust me you are gonna need a lot of diapers….I have six children, one older son, twin sons, and triplets, I want to give you some advice….let people help you, dont try and do it all on your own….and chill a little, dont sweat the small stuff…as long as you love them, and tell them everyday, everything else just happens…..good luck…..also, take pictures of each child by themself, dont always take the pictures of them together…when they get older, you will understand why I say this….

It’s never too early to buy diapers or wipes. If I ever get pregnant again I’ll probably start stocking up right away. The good thing about diapers are that if you baby grows out of the particular size, you can exchange any unopened packages for the next size up. In the smaller sizes I would also advise buying smaller pkgs because they grow out of them so quickly! I would also advise buying some premie size diapers. The new born ones are just way to big for a newborn baby. My son was full term. He weighed nearly 6 lbs, and yet he still didn’t fit into newborn sized diapers for 3-4 weeks.

newborn diapers are always needed - no matter what is the size of babies.. be warned that toy’r'us have expensive diapers - the boxes are large but if you take the value per diaper, they are too expensive and at the rate of 10 diaper changes a day per child you will be out of them in less than a week.. therefore, i would suggest to become a member of a wholesale club like costco and get your diapers from there - not the brand name but the costco-brand since with the twins it will be easy to go broke just spending on brand names.. if you can totally afford the brand names - then it’s a different story :).. as for the wipes, the ones that worked for me were costco’s kirkland babywipes - they come in bulk and are very handy (plus not as expensive).. but since you have a gift card, i suggest you invest the money into something that you will thank me for later - good bottles.. the best brand is dr brown’s (the vent out the air best) and they have a whole system with nipples that have a graduated opening, so that the flow increases as baby gets older.. i got a gift set when my daughter was born and it lasted me until she transitioned to a sippy cup :).. good luck :)
