should i buy these baby stuff or not? (sarcastic person get away!)?

im not livin in USA where every stuff can be free delivered. after first miss carriage and difficulties, i am now happily pregnant in the middle of no where and no friend at all (just arrived after relocation). my baby predicted to born on 15 march (twin babies). as a gift, my in laws give us amazon gift card to buy stuff as a gift for the baby and they said this card has to be used for buy a baby stuff. and these are what i really want to buy…

1. Baby bouncer (will be nice to keep one at a time while im busy with the other one!?)
2. Breast pump (is a muct i guess…)
3. Baby stroller for twin
4. Carseat

I have decided to buy these items, but when i saw the shipping fee, i start to think SHOULD I BUY OR NOT.

in the city where we live there are so limited options of baby goods, and actually with the price we pay at amazon, it will be almost the same with the price in the local market but with a less good of quality.

I know i can avoid the baby bouncer, but i really really want to have this… and with the gift card i have, i can buy all those stuff together+shippment… and after the first misscariage, we really happy and wanted this baby to have "fancy" stuff…

but, do you think its worth to pay tripple price just because of the shipment fee? and i realize these stuff wont last more than 9months…

and for the stroller, is it worth it to buy the $700 for a double stroller? (really good one though) OR just buy the ordinary one with a cheaper price about $300?

Thank you SOOOOOOOO much! :)

PS: dont tell me about baby clothes, we have everything already from my sister

My baby HATED a bouncer. When I put her in it she sobbed and was completely scared out of her wits. She never liked it. You can’t tell if a baby will like a bouncer or not before you try it, so I don’t recommend buying one until you can try one out. Same with a baby swing.

And while a breast-pump is nice, you can’t use it for the first month (it can hurt your supply, just let them nurse naturally.) You may never use it. I actually got 2 from family who never used their breast pumps when I was pregnant. I ended up unable to breastfeed because of medical issues, so I didn’t use them either. I donated them.

I would go with the car seat or with the stroller. You need the car seat from day one, and the good ones typically aren’t that cheap. Strollers will become a necessity especially with twins on the way. I’d look for a stroller with big wheels (like a jogging stroller) since they go up and down curbs, through grass and dirt and sand, and just are easier to handle, and the further back they lay down the better it is for a newborn.

carseats are mandatory in the US, your health insurance will cover a breast pump & supplies, a stroller isn’t necessary -try a back pack instead cuz it’s cheaper, stores better, and frees your hands, & bouncers and swings will only last a short time. work your budget again -reduce unnecessary expenses and spend most of your money on diapers. let family & friends know what you need in case they can loan or buy the items for you.

a baby bouncer actually won’t last past 3-4 months………….. lol. at least thats the way it was with my kiddo.
i think you should have a double stroller - but i think you can find a used one for 30-100$
Car seats - yes, convertible if you can. that way you won’t need to nbuy a different kind later
breast pump may not be necessary……

It is all up to you….weather you have or want to spend the money. In my opinion a baby bouncer was not worth the money my Damian didn’t like the bouncer. Also the bouncer will not be able to hold baby’s weight for more that a few months. I suggest a baby swing. A baby swing can be used way longer that a bouncer. Ask yourself a few questions about the stroller will it be use daily? or just to go to run errands? I bought a really expensive travel system and now that Damian is 1 year old I’m thinking about switching to a umbrella stroller since it is so much lighter that a big stroller. If you are comfortable with it I say buy the cheaper stroller. I’m sorry you lost a baby but congratulation on your new twins.

Im pretty sure its the law that you have to have a carseat before the baby can leave hospital. Like the baby has to leave hospital in a car seat. I would buy them. Bouncers are life savers! I highly recommend something like the fisher price rainforest bouncer or the boppin band bouncer (i have that one) they play music and lights and are fantastic.

i also have a phil and teds double dash (www.philandteds.com) which is a life saver too. It has one seat behind the other instead of side to side so it doesnt take up heaps of room and struggle to fit through door ways

EDIT: My almost 20 month old still sits in the bouncer, he was so excited when i bought a new one for our daughter (4 months) and he sits in it to read his books, watch tv and he sometimes even falls asleep in it. Also my daughter hates lying down, she screams and cries, she is ok on her tummy or on her side, but she wont lie on her back. Also a breast pump isnt that necessary, you can always hand pump if you need to even though it takes ages

a carseat is a necessity.. Im not sure that I’d pay shipping on one, but you do need it. Consider a convertible type seat tho that can be used for longer if you go that route.

The bouncer.. no. Its handy to have, but if you have to pay alot to get it, no its not worth it. They only use it a few months. If you have hopes/plans of more children, maybe.. or if you have young friends who have plans of babies too, and some of this stuff can be passed around to your cirle of friends, maybe.. but just to use for a few months, no.

Pump.. I wouldnt be in a rush to get it. See how well breastfeeding works for you, and see if you really have a need for it. Many mothers intend to breastfeed, but it doesnt always work out that way.. if you are a stay at home mom, you really dont need it either.

stroller for twin.. are you expecting twins? Or just one baby? There’s no need for a double stroller for one baby. No, I would not pay $700 for a stroller.. I dont think I’d even pay $300 for one.

Can’t go wrong with a bouncer, this is something that was in constant use when my children were babies. Very handy for the first six months.

A bouncer and breastpump may not be necessary for a few months. Your baby can just as easily lay on a mat on the floor. The breastpump isnt necessary, i got two for my first child (manual and electric) and second time around i have chosen not to use it (they make you feel like a cow!!) and i have been fine. I would suggest holding off on that one until you know when you would want to use it. Are you really going to be going out and needing to have a extra supply of milk? COuld you use formula in these instances to top up the baby?

I don’t know where you’re located, but many items on Amazon qualify for free shipping, so definitely check out if the items on your list ship for free. I know you are happy to be having babies, and you want the best for them, but what you need to remember is the "fancy" stuff is for you, not for them. Companies make really nice quality items for a fraction of the cost these days, and if you can save a little money on big items, think of all the toys and such you can buy to spoil the babies. I mean, how much joy is an infant going to get out of a $700 stroller? Besides, as a mother, especially a mother of twins, you’re going to have to learn quickly how to make your dollars stretch. As for your list, you definitely need car seats, and a stroller would be very convenient. I’d hold off on the breast pump if I were you, and since it’s not a guarantee if your babies will like a bouncer, maybe wait on that too. Or buy the cheapest one you can find in your city and see how it works out.

Instead of a baby bouncer consider a good sling - it will last longer, and keep baby/babies much while you get your hands back. They’ll be happier as they are kept close to you (research shows that, on average, over 40% less crying, and over 50% less crying during the difficult evening period).
The babybjorn type puts baby in a poor position and is often uncomfortable for the wearer too.
    I recommend:
    Moby http://www.amazon.com/Moby-Wrap-Original-Cotton-Carrier/dp/B000OY539A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1268033940&sr=1-2
    Sleepy wrap http://www.amazon.com/Sleepy-Wrap-Classic-Carrier-Months/dp/B001BXBC0W/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1268033996&sr=1-25
Or if your vouchers stretch this far, one that will last from birth to 3 or 4 years http://www.amazon.com/Beco-Butterfly-Baby-Carrier-Black/dp/B001PCEVF2/ref=sr_1_41?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1268033996&sr=1-41

You could even use one of these slings and a single stroller to get around, which might be cheaper.

Breastpump - not essential, plenty of mums successfully breastfeed without ever using one (including me - close to 2 years). Babies are better at encouraging supply than any pump, and you’ll have two of them :o)
Do lots of reading in the next few days if you haven’t already - links below are great, and kellymom.com has a forum too.
Find out if there is any breastfeeding support local to you - or other breastfeeding mums if no support group or breastfeeding expert.

I’d use it mainly on decorating novelties as I like to buy the essentials in person, especially as you said that you can get higher quality stuff for the same price (after factoring in shipping) locally.
I had a light up mobile that my son loved, and they only place I’ve managed to find similar items was Amazon (it was a Christmas light originally- the similar ones on Amazon are baby stuff!)
Baby bouncer and breastpump- wait until after bub is here as you might have supply issues and some babies HATE bouncers.
Strollers and carseats are things that you really should buy in person, you need to know how well they fit in your car, as well as how well the stroller handles- you cannot learn these things off a website!

Get a sling or carrier, I’d buy a crib tent- I found this to be an essential! Buy an attractive mobile- these are an essential item with young infants! Plus mobiles are something where it is a better range to choose from online. If it will stretch that far, get a glider rocker or a rocking chair. Something comfortable to sit in while feeding bub.

i also live outside of usa, australia, europe where everything are free delivered or can get in many options. for my twins, i bought stroller instead of any other things, because i listen to any other mothers which has NO SPACE to put those stuffs after the baby dont use it anymore. i did buy some stuff from local amazon (i dont know if they have in your city) but this give choices at least… looking at stroller can be so aching sometimes so, intead of thinking of other stuff, you better think about choosing good stroller that you will use until they fully walk without tired!

my suggestion… if you can afford all those stuff with one click card… BUY EVERTHING you want, even the shipment will be pricey. but you can wait for the bouncer… maybe you will find a better price and choice later on on the other site…

i also try sometimes from mothercare.co.uk (nice stuff!)

good luck, and congrats for the twins.
