A friend in another state is expecting twins!! Should I send a gift off their registry right away and if so can I send just a card when they arrive or should it be another gift?

in most cases people get same stuff from many people so that makes it a hassle to them to return some back and get something else they need. best gift would be cash as parents can use it on whatever is missing 
along with a nice cute card of course

Sending a gift now and a card when they are born is fine. This is why the baby shower was invented. So parents to be can get the gifts they need before the baby is born. Congratulations to your friend.
