I think some people are confused…I WILL be washing his clothes seperately, but i wanted to know if it was best to get a seperate hamper as well.
It’s up to you. There’s no harm in using the same hamper.
do you put your baby’s clothes in the same hamper…trying to decide if i need to buy an additional hamper?

it would be better to get another hamper, because your clothes might be infected or stained with something and also its better just to buy another hamper now rather than waiting till they’re 16 and still not doing their own laundry
please answer mine!!!!

My baby has his own hamper, and I wash all of his separately.

Same hamper! There will be so much washing in the early days anyway.
I just chucked my wee ones clothes in with mine and my husbands - then used non-bio washing powder for us all. Never had any problems.

My daughter has her own hamper (well actually a laundry basket) only because I was her clothes separately. It just makes it easier because I don’t have to sort it all out before I wash it. If I were washing her clothes with ours I would just use one hamper.

I put our baby’s clothes in the same hamper and wash them with our clothes too. I’ve never noticed a problem with it.

i personally bought my son his own hamper since i’m using different soap to wash his clothes. but if you’re going to use the same soap to wash all your clothes you could use the same hamper.

My daughter has her own hamper just for the sake of convenience. It’s easier to chuck her dirty stuff across the room than across the hall.
When it comes to washing though, her stuff gets washed with mine because I wash the majority of my clothes on delicate.
There’s no need to buy a special laundry soap unless your baby has super sensitive skin. I got suckered into that racket for one bottle’s worth and have been using Tide, Purex or Woolite on my baby’s clothes ever since with zero problems.

My baby has a seperate hamper. We dont wash her clothes with mine and my husbands. We use ivory detergent. Its gentle and you can throw everything in the same load.

We use a seperate hamper. Her stuff is washed in Dreft and dried with no fragrance or dye in the dryer sheet. We use a scented wash and the dryer bar.

I use a separate hamper simply because I wash his clothes separately, in gentle detergent. This way I don’t have to sort it. Also, instead of buying super expensive Dreft, just use All free and clear or Purex sensitive. It’s all the same but costs a lot less.

Goodness, what’s with all the thumbs down?
Anyway, my son has his own hamper that stays next to his changing table. This way any soiled clothes can go straight in. I wash all his clothes separately right now, since he’s only 3 months old. Once he’s older, he’ll still have his own hamper, but I’ll probably mix his clothes with ours in the wash.

We have a hamper in his room next to his changing table but we still wash everything(his and ours) all together when the time comes. I did use a fragrance free and dye free detergent on his clothing for the first couple of months just because I was fearful of his sensitive skin but after that point everything got washed together.

I always keep my kids clothes in separate hampers… I just have these cheap fold up ones for them and a real plastic one for us. It just keeps things more organized!

I have a hamper for my sons’ clothing that is separate from my clothing and my husband’s. The main reason I’d suggest you get a separate hamper is just the convenience. It’s so much easier to just grab a hamper and put everything in the washer rather than having to sort between the baby’s clothing and your own.
