So many!
I have a decorative box in his nursery and any time I come across something memorable I store it in there. So far I have one of every size of his diapers, starting with the preemie size swaddlers he was in at birth, up to the size 3s he is in now. I also have his umbilical stump in there, the hat he wore in the hospital, his Christmas outfit that he wore at one week old, a bunch of photos, and all of his updates from daycare (they give me a daily log). I also keep cards that he gets from people and (I know this is almost as gross as the stump)…but I have my positive pregnancy test in a bag in that box.
Oh…also all of our wrist tags from the hospital, his name tag on his crib, and all of his cords from being hooked up in the nursery.

Lock of hair, footprints/hand prints, first tooth, I bought this thing and it is called a baby bum cast, and they have them for bellies too, and you make a cast of your baby’s little bum!
Keep all of your ultrasound pictures & pictures of your belly!

All of the above, cards from his birth and I also wrote a diary which I started when I was pregnant and wrote in until he turned one. I hope to give that to him some time in the future…

All hospital bands/ids from hospital, 1st hair cut in a zip-lock baggy, the outfit they came home in from hospital. I know I have a lot more. My babies are now 6 years old and 1 year old. Still waiting for my oldest to start losing teeth so I can save them. I want them dipped in gold for keeping.

I started a scrapbook after she was born -okay, she’s fourteen months now and I haven’t even got to the baby shower page. I will keep plugging away at it.
I also have a box with all of the cards she got when she was born, her id bracelet from the hospital, the measuring tape they used to measure her at birth, a NB sized diaper (clean!), a certificate from the Midwife clinic of her birthdate, weight and foot prints, first haircut, first birthday cards, etc. Also, at my baby shower, my girlfriends all wrote a a piece of advice for every year from 1 year to 18 years of age. They are in sealed envelopes and I am supposed to open the appropriate one on each birthday. I keep these in the box as well, along with her baby book and first year calendar.

God, there are so many things! The id bracelet from the hospital. Both of the caps they gave us. Clippings from his first haircut. The outfit he came home in and a lot more! I’m going to have to rent storage for all the stuff I keep, he’s only 17 months, LOL.

My daughter is only 13 months old, we have saved the outfit she came home in and some special clothing items that she has grown out of. I’m sure that we’ll probably keep some blankies, toys, piggy bank, etc.

Think forty years into the future, because thats where I am, my babies are quite grown now, but I’m answering this because you might want to think that far ahead.
I saved, the custom made name ribbon from the fancy pillow that we used to have in every baby carriage, no one does that now. The curls from their first haircuts. Pictures, of course. Their first ‘best dress’. One of which cost all of twenty dollars and was enormously expensive for its time.
I kept a baby book for each of them, I lost those in a fire and now I wish I had copied them when I made them.
Those things you know you will never forget do get forgotten years later. I crochet baby blankets, so I never saved their blankies, they always had new ones.
I still do that for the new babies, and my grandchildrens ‘going home’ blankets were the envy of the hospital.
Keep things that have some story or meaning, keep pictures that remind you of a day in the park or a trip where you were all happy.
And make duplicates of all baby books so when you tell your grandchildren what Mommy was like, you can jog your memory.

My daughter is only three months old, but I’ve already started a collection…. I saved and framed all of my ultrasound photos (I have five). After we brought her home, I saved the hat she was wearing the first time I met her (I didn’t get to hold her right away because I had a c-section under general anesthesia). I have the matching ID bracelets that she and my husband and I all wore in the hospital. I also saved her umbilical cord stump…I cried the day it fell off. It was the last little reminder of the connection she and I shared for 9-1/2 months, even if it is disgusting!
I also kept a journal while I was pregnant, specifically about my pregnancy. Someday, when my daughter is old enough to carry her own child, I hope to share it with her.

now i feel so bad.. i didn’t keep half the stuff others did and I was planning to keep so much I just didn’t think of these things (luckly she is only 9 mo old so I can salvage some)
I have her ID bracelet, her blood pressure cuff (from NICU), hopefully i can find her coming home outfit, I will keep her favorite stuffed toy, I still have her hospital hat so i think now I will keep that, I already kept her hospital booties, pictures of course, so far that is it for me.. but this has some good ideas!
