I’m in the process of buying clothes for my first baby, due in June. How many onesies do they go through in a day? How many onesies should I buy? Should I buy newborn size or 0-3 months size?
Thanks!
Many babies are never in newborn size clothes and most aren’t in them for more than a couple of weeks. I would recommend getting 0-3 months size. They’ll be a bit big but not for long. You will probably need at least two a day with a day here or there of using 3. I always had my babies in onesies. I loved them.

dont buy many of the same size clothes, they grow out of them so quick you wouldnt believe it. no more then 10 of each thing. trust me, you need a few newborn sizes, and you will need more of the 0-3months.

My little man usually goes through 2 onesies a day…depending on the explosions LOL. I would only buy 2 packs of each size.

Nothing if u already know the gender of ur baby,.then just visit a baby products shop ,and ask the retailer to give u clothes for ur new born baby,.and buy baby oil, pampers for immediate actions,.

but both but not too many of the newborn size, they grow out of them fast and even if you use the 0-3 size and they are a little big at first its ok … as for how many they go through.,. let me tell you , my son is 7 weeks now and I can change him 7 times in one day. He spits up a lot and they do more of that at the beginning. Every spit up that’s all over him , I change the whole darn outfit.. I am not saying you will be changing 7 times every day but you will have those days and you wont always have the time to run to the washing machine and through a load in right there and then.. you will though at the end of every day. Good luck and Congrats

honestly i bought so many clothes for my newborn and they went to waste. they grow so fast! Plus, they really like those one piece pj’s with buttons or zipper. nothing else. The onsies gowns are okay but there legs can get cold at night so i just preffered the one piece pj. They dont get dirty much unless you use really cheap diapers that leak. My daughter goes through a pj every two days. I changer her clothes daily regardless but her clothes stay really clean. I use large bibs too so her clothes dont get dirty. Newborns are easy though. I wouldnt buy a whole lot. They grow out of everything so fast. Now i only buy a few things at time.

I think you’d be okay with just two packs of each size, which would be like 6 total. They grow so fast, plus those onsies really shrink up! My daughter was wearing size 12 mths in onesies at like 5 months old, so don’t buy a lot in the newborn sizes. Don’t buy a lot of anything in newborn sizes, b/c most likely they won’t even get around to wearing every article of clothing you buy, at least that was the case for both my daughters!

buy both sizes and about 2-3 a day at least, depending on how much you bundle of joy spits up. you can never have too many onsies tho.
i am pregnant with my 3rd (due in sept)
they are also great under outfits if it is cold or just a onsie if it is hot.

The amount of onesies is going to depend on spit up and diaper leakage. If you are care full about that then you should be fine with 1-2 a day. But buy A LOT because with a new baby Laundry will not be on your top priorities list. If your child is a spitter (my niece looked like the girl from the exorcist) You may need to either feed them naked or change their onesies after every feeding. As for the leaky diaper, not really much you can do but find a pattern. Half an hour after they eat they usually goa lott. I would buy a few newborn sizes but as you get a little closer you should be able to tell by how big you feel they may be. You may (hopefully not) need preemies if they come out petite. Buy carefully as sizing can really mess you up. If you buy 4 month summer clothes but they are to big, your never going to get to use them. Infant clothes are difficult to buy before baby gets here. But onesies you should be fine with. they wear them ALL THE TIME!

I always got 0-3…he wore them from day one a little loose and at almost 6 weeks still wears them and they fit good so best option and mine goes through anywhere from 2-4 or even 5 he has spit up issues so be prepared!! we just do lots of laundry lol

That varies by day. My son has some days where he never poops out of the diaper, and other days were everytime he poops I have to change the onsie because he has pooped out of it. I would own 10 - 20 in whatever size he is wearing at the time. As for what size to buy now, 0-3 & 3-6. Don’t waste money on NB, especially if you are buying Gerber brand which really run small. Only a premie is small enough to wear a NB onsie for more than a couple of weeks.

There’s no need for your baby to use more than one onesie per day. Just use a towel or cloth for feeding/burping. There’s not much else a newborn can do to mess up their clothes. Obviously, change their diaper every few hours; you might occasionally have a leak onto their clothes, but not all the time. So I’d say one onesie per day, just keep some extras around in case.
I’d buy newborn size. A 3 month old baby is a LOT bigger than a newborn, so the 0-3 month clothes are usually way, way too big for a newborn.
Congrats on your first baby!

Buy 0-3! They still fit a newborn, maybe a tiny bit big but you’ll need plenty and they grow out of the newborn ones’ too quickly
