Can someone help me find wholesale and distributors to sell baby products?

Does anybody know any true wholesale or distributors to start a company?
I am trying to sell baby products, but i will take any kind of wholesalers to sell any kind of products.
If somebody could help me that would be really great.
In the future, I want to start a non-profit organization to help out kids. I think this would be a great way to start!
I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

There are lots of wholesale distributors and suppliers who could offer you baby products. The best option for you is to visit any B2B website search for the product and you will get a list of distributors for that product including their contact details and product information. I doubt people will give you direct names and people are protective of real product sources. Here are some things you can try…

    (1) Real wholesalers will not advertise online or if they do it will not be a name you recognize. Stay away from "dropshippers" or any company that wants you to pay a fee.. They make their money on fees… Only deal with those companies that (a) require proof of a vendors license or business license, and (b) do not charge you fees…

    (2) Start with trade organizations. For example, I joined the National Sporting Goods Association (required proof of a sporting goods business) and I got a membership directory with over 10,000 companies. I imagine something exists for your target market.

    (3) Attend a conference or trade show. many vendors who won’t answer your calls or emails, will be present and you can order on the spot in some cases… Once you get that initial order, you’ll be in their system as a customer.

    (4) Most distributors and wholesalers will not want to deal with you unless you make a BIG order. The bigger the brand, the more this is true… If you are having trouble getting in with a bigger brand, set back your profits on your other items for a while and approach them with a bigger than normal order.. Wait until the last day of the month as many reps are on commission and trying to get their numbers up..

    (5) Reps get bombarded with many small time people.. They hate eBayer’s and online only stores since the orders are small and gives them busy work.. Their commissions aren’t that big on small orders so in order for them to make a living, they concentrate on the bigger business (especially those with real stores).

    (6) Don’t do a search on "wholesale" or "wholesale baby items" etc… All you’ll get is the mega wholesale sites that are not real wholesalers but retailers with discounts "retail prices"… You’ll never be able to sell these items.. They’ll entice you with name brands and a selection of a million + items, but you can’t sell them, because you can’t compete with the bigger stores or people who are dealing with the real distributors.

    (7) Do contact manufacturers and ask them who their distributors are for your area. Its hard to get a response so keep trying…

    (8) Trade shows, and Trade organizations have been my most successful..

If you want to form a non-profit, then do that first. Its easier to get in with a vendor as a non-profit organization than someone just up and calling them.

Hope that helps! Best of luck.
