I’d like to know what your favorite baby products are. I’m almost 25 weeks, and feeling the need to get everything set up for a baby in May and I’d like to know what you use and couldn’t live without! Please be specific. Diaper brands, baby carriers, wipes, bedding, diaper pails, mattresses (foam vs coils? Brands?), changing pads, anything you have that you find helpful and convenient to use on or with your babies. The more info and details the better.
Thanks for reading and answering! All comments are appreciated!
Diapers- Huggies all the way
Wipes- Huggies (absolutly hate the way pampers wipes feel…they are scratchy).
If you want to save a couple extra bucks…Costco has their own brand (Kirkland signature) and they are manufactured by huggies, so they are actually huggie products with a different name at a cheap price
Baby Carrier- Infantino front 2 back rider—-It’s great, veratile, and comfortable. Can wear on your front with baby facing in or out, and when baby is older can be worn on your back. Very nice thick padded straps very supportive, and best of all. It’s only about $30.

Wipe Warmer- Couldn’t live with out it…sounds so ridiculous, but it’s one of those "Must Haves". I have the one made by Prince LionHeart, and my wipes never dry out and never turn brown…Its wonderful
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3557338
Mattress- I have a seally with coils, it’s wonderful.
Diaper pail- I find useless…I have a regular small garbage can with a flip up lid. (cost $5).
CD player for the nursery- I regret not getting one, because now I have my portable dvd player in there to play the lullabye cd’s. The white noise really helps them fall asleep. As soon as I put some soft music on, he’s immediatly relaxed and asleep within minutes
Humidifier- Any kind will work fine. I have the Elephant one from babies r us, I love it…It’s soooo cute, and very quiet, a breeze to fill, and gives out a good amount of mist. Also has an automatic shut off safety feature in case it runs out of water. ($42)

BebeSounds By Graco Battery Operated Nasal aspirator- Those Bulb syringes are a huge pain in the butt. I Recommend this product to Everyone, and anyone I know that has it…absolutly loves it. It’s a True MUST HAVE. ($20)

Changing pads and bedding, I went relativly cheap. Sheets are sheets. And a baby is only on a changing table for a few minutes at a time. I really think the $100 changing pads are absurd. I bought mine for like $30. Sheets I bought whatever was on sale, and if you don’t mind plain white, you can get a 2 pack for like $9 a walmart.
I do recommend the waterproof pads for under all your bedding, this way if there’s ever an accident, the matress doesn’t get wet. I use the waterproof pads on my changing tables, bassinet, pack n play, and crib. They come in many different sizes ranging from $10 for 2, and the big fitted ones for the crib are about $10 each.
I found my bassinet to be useless, as my son outgrew it in 2 months. I didn’t even want one, but got it as a gift. I was just going to use my pack n play with the bassinet insert in my room, which is what I had to do for about a month anyway after he outgrew the bassinet.
Baby emery boards are wonderful. I was very scared to use nail clippers when he was a newborn, and my son would not keep those lil mits on his hands, no matter what I did he found a way to get them off and scratch his face. So instead of cutting them, I filed them down with little emery boards and never had to worry about cutting his little fingers
Make sure you have a good thermometer. Up until the age of 3 months, the only accurate way to take a baby’s temp is rectally. After 3 months old, their ear canals are large enough to get an accurate ear reading.
Baby Monitor- A must have! I love the one I have b/c all three peices can run on batter power (including the base), it comes with 2 receivers. It has 2 channels, and I never have interference. It lights up when baby makes noise so you can see activity even if the volume is off. The base has a digital thermometer on it so you always know the temperature of the baby’s room.

Huge Diaper bag and bottle cooler bag. I love my ginormous bag that holds everything I could ever need. As long as I don’t overpack with clothes, it’s even big enough to fit my cooler bag and 2 cans of formula.

get a bassinet! i Love mine. i dont even know the brand because its a hand me down but i love that it has wheels on it, so i can wheel him into the next room with me if i need to clean or do something that prevents me from holding him. also it fits perfect in my some what smaller bed room, so he able to sleep close by me with out being in the same bed as me. i would love to co sleep with him but i worry i will squish him. so this bassinet is perfect because i put it right next to my bed and we are at the same level but there is a barrier that will prevent me from rolling onto him which eases my mind, but he is with in arms reach for when he wakes at night which is often as he is under 2 weeks old. he has a crib in his room but so far he has not used it, I much prefer having him in the bassinet over the crib.

Diapers: We mostly use prefolds with wool, but I love the BumGenius and prefer those.
Baby Carrier: Hotslings, Babyhawk, Ring Sling, Moby Wrap - all get lots of use. Mostly the hotslings and the Babyhawk
Wipes: We use soft cloths and water. Economical and gentle on baby’s skin
Bedding - We co-sleep, so no preference there.
Diaper Pail - We use a lidded kitchen trash can lined with a wetbag
Mattress: Again, co-sleeping, no preference
Changing Pad: We just changed them on a blanket on the floor or bed. We bought a changing table with our first and never used it once.
We do not use any lotions. We don’t use baby wash for about the first 6 months, after that we use California Baby.
The Boppy Pillow was used a lot in the first few months, made nursing rather comfortable.

LOVE Gold Bond baby powder. I started using that when my son was a month old and he hasn’t had another rash. (he’s four months now.) don’t use regular baby powder because it has perfumes in it and it burns the baby if they already have a rash. Gold Bond is made of corn starch and it’s medicated. I found it at walmart on the top shelf.
Also can’t live without my mac-daddy stroller that his car seat came with whenwe bought it. I can easliy get around anywhere… Doc visits, mall and visiting hubby at work.
lastly, go ahead and buy a cloth swaddler. It will mean more sleep for you at night!
Congrats!!! You have an amazing journey ahead. Make sure u take lots of pics at the hospital. I still look at mine all the time!

Diapers: Bum Genius Flip
Baby carrier: Cuddle wrap and Beco Butterfly II
Wipes: Baby washcloths with water which has a touch of chemical free lotion in it
Bedding: We co-sleep so, my favourite sheets
Pail: I use a step type garbage can, the inside comes right out so it is easy to get dipes to the washer.
Bumbo seat is great, loves sophie the giraffe and her catchy ball… hard to explain, like a ball skeleton, super easy to hold with little fingers.

Diaper Brand: Pampers…I find Huggies leak and they dont sell Luvs where I live. This is something you will have to try though as every parent finds certain diapers fit differet.
Carriers: Moby Wrap by far is the best. I have a Snugli and a Sling and the wrap carriers are awesome. If its not your style then try an Ergo carries as I head they are easy on the back too. Sling killed my back and so does the Snugli
Wipes: Pampers or Parents Choice but basically anything unscented and alcohol free works
Bedding: I bought a Winnie The Pooh crib set but now I wish I never had because baby should never sleep with the comforter and I dont feel safe with the big bumper pads. If I had to do it again I would buy a crib skirt (I like the look of them) a few flannal sheets and breathable bumpers (just got some from walmart today)
Diaper Pail: I have a diaper genie but only because we live in an apartment building and I cant get down to the dumpster often enough to get rid of dirty diapers. If I had a house though I wouldnt bother.
Matress: We have a Simmons firm matress
Changing Pad: I think we have a Jolly Jumper change table pad and then a Kushies brand diaper bag one
We use Stork Craft furnature in her room, Crane brand humidifier, Safety First monitor and baby kit (thermometer, nail clippers, bulb syringe) Evenflo travel system (hate travel systems though….wish I never bout one and just got a convertible carseat) Eddie Bauer diaper bag, Fisher Price Ocean Wonders swing, Baby Einstein play mat, Evenflo Exersaucer, Playtex Drop-in bottles, First Years Mini breastpump, Penaten Diaper Cream, Johnsons baby products, Baby’s Own soap, Purex Baby Soft laundry soap, Bath eze, Dr. Brown’s Formula Jug, Nestle Good Start Formula
Not saying this stuff is the best out there, but its what we use and we like it.

boppy pillow! you must get a boppy. its just great. i can’t put it into words. i can nurse her with it she can sit in it she can have tummy time on it. I use this thing every day

Diapers…Pampers Swaddlers the newborn ones (until size 3) are so soft! Now we use Target Brand and Pampers…a friend of mine bought us a box of Target diapers at my baby shower, I was a little worried about using them but they are great, no leaking!
Wipes…Pampers Sensitive no perfumes
Baby Carrier…when she was smaller I used the Balboa Sling now we use a Bjorn backpack style carrier.
A Boppy is a MUST in my house! My daughter is 12 months old and still uses it. I know they say babies shouldn’t sleep on them but she lays in it on the couch with me and has slept many times with it.
A Bumbo is another must…my daughter has been using hers since she was about 2 months old, although now she is getting a little too big for it. (I wish they made them for older kids)
My daughter uses a foam mattress…I don’t know much about it, my husband surprised me one weekend and set up our nursery. I like the way the foam mattress feels vs coil mattress.
The diaper pail we use is Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail I wouldn’t even want to imagine life without it!
An infant bathtub is something else you really need. Until they are old enough to sit up in the bath it is too big a hassle without one.
We use Johnson’s & Johnson’s baby shampoo and The Johnson’s and Johnson’s vanilla oatmeal baby wash and lotion, it smells great!
Get some Boudreaux’s Butt Paste…the stuff works wonders! Be careful though it can stain clothes, they have an organic version now that doesn’t stain, but I like the original better.
Also the best stuff I have found for a diaper rash is a Caldesene powder…it is in a pink bottle. I looked all over and finally found some at CVS. My daughter had a really bad diaper rash once and that stuff cleared it up in 2 days!
Good luck!! You have a lot of fun ahead of you!
