I want to make a baby gift basket for a baby shower we are going to any help or suggestions?

where can i get a basket to put stuff in and how do i complete the finishing touches. Any suggestions what gifts to put in the basket…i want it to be unique and not like everyone elses gift….thanks

You can buy baskets at Walmart or at a craft store such as Michaels or Hobby Lobby. What you put in it will depend..do you want it to be for the baby or for the new mom? If for the baby, you could put diapers, lotion, baby shampoo, stuffed animals, blankets, rattles, or pacifiers in it. If for the mom, you could put a baby book, bubble bath, lotion, a photo album or frame, or anything else you think a new mom would appreciate.

I would suggest buying a small or medium sized circular laundry basket. This way she will actually get some use out of it, it’s not just a worthless basket sitting around. You could buy a nice soft blanket to put in it and then arrange an array of smaller gifts on the inside. Like a pack of diapers, wipes, bath supplies, clothes, bottles, pacifiers…really whatever you want.

In the States, Walmart, Target, Micheals, TJ Maxx, and similar stores sell baskets. Micheals will probably have the best selection. Pick a "theme," like bed time or bath time or play time, and fill the basket with items to match the theme. Take bed time for example. You would fill the basket with pajamas, books, and blankets. For bath time, you could use a baby bathtub instead of the basket, and fill it with towels, washcloths, a rubber ducky, and bath soap. Super cute!

This will help you out alot. You can do this and just put baby shampoo in the center. http://howtomakeadiapercakehq.com/

For gifts I would do handmade stuff like decorated burp cloths, unique pacifier clips, blankies….something that this baby will have that other babies won’t. Try Etsy.com. I get my baby shower stuff from the store Baby Whatknots, they have cute stuff and made to last.

I think a themed basket is a great idea! Maybe you could also make it focus on the mom and the items she will need to care for herself. Anything from lotions and slippers to a Posh Mommy necklace like these - http://stores.jewelryninja.com/-strse-Collections-cln-Posh-Mommy/Categories.bok and make it all about helping her to feel good at a time when she will be very tired and stressed!
