When I found out my sister was pregnant I set aside a certain amount for gifts. I have spent all but $45 and I am not sure what else to get her. So far I have gotten her a highchair, stroller, walker, lamp, rug, trash can, crocheted blanket, baby book, crib and bassinet sheets, baby wipes, diapers, play gym, safety locks, crocheted bibs, sippy cup, food storage containers, and a water temp duck. I know this sounds like a lot, but she is my younger sister and I have always loved spoiling her. What else should I get her for $45? Thank You!
Susan: The crocheted blankets I made has his name on them.
What a great sister!
I would say either a bouncy chair or newborn rocker as sometimes you just need somewhere safe to put your child down:

Newborn/Toddler Rocker:

A Bumbo Chair is also a fun and useful gift, but we found our twins outgrew it fast and could not use it until they had good neck control:

why not use the $45 to start a college fund for the baby (saving account).

Wow, that sounds like a great haul already! But if you would like to do something else, why not get something personalized with the baby’s name (if one is already picked and you know the sex). You can buy a cute blanket, bath towel, hat or onesie and have someone monogram them (doesn’t cost a lot). My daughters favorite shower gifts were the monogrammed towels and hats for her twins.

I would get her a ‘pregnancy’ massage. Most day spas do them. They help to drain excess fluid and ease joint and back pains. Most mums I know who have had one say it was absolutely fantastic!

Wow, you sure have your bases covered! I would say you’ve got plenty for the baby, so get a gift for the mom to spoil herself. A restaurant gift cert with baby-sitting for when she’s ready for a night out would be cool, my dad did that for me for Christmas. Still haven’t redeemed it though lol! Or a spa or salon gift card, so she can get a pedicure or her hair done, everyone loves a little pampering.
You could get a monstrous pile of paper plates, I found those invaluable during the first few weeks home. A bouncy seat is also a good gift in your price range, my little girl likes dozing in that when the crib just won’t do. YOu could always buy a few outfits, that’s a great standby, especially older sizes. Have fun!

you sound like a great sister, those gifts are very thoughtful. I’d get her a massage — or something similar for herself. it’s tough being a momma.

Spend the rest on clothes! Those are the most fun to shop for.
Maybe you guys could go shopping together for those.

A gift certificate would be a good idea that way she can get whatever she needs that she does not yet have. Or something for herself. Being a mom can be stressful and I am sure she would appreciate you to babysit the baby and a gift certificate to a spa, to get her nails done, a massage, or movie.

Buy her the Papillon baby bath ring. Babies grow so fast and it will be your sister’s most appreciated gift! I highly recommend.
