When do most people normally have baby showers?

I am 23 weeks and not about to go into labor anytime soon (I sure hope) but we know for a fact that the baby is a boy (we had 2 good inbetween the leg shots at 2 different weeks) and are beginning to accumulate things for the baby ourselves. The other day though my sister came up to me and said, "When should I have a baby shower?" And I didn’t know. This is the first grandchild for both sides of the family.

Thank you,
Aery

it’s not so common here in the UK to have showers but it is becoming more so and it seems to be at the end of the pregnancy. Probably a month or 6 weeks before your due date so that you are ready to receive gifts, but not so close to potentially going into labour that you dont want to see anyone.
You dont have to know the sex to have a shower, that would be nuts, as so many people dont want to know these days (I’m not one of them! we’re having a girl!)
Anyway you can have the shower whenever but usually from the ones I have been to its at about 32-34 weeks.
How exciting?
will you register?

I’M having 2 showers this pregnancy, as both sides of the family couldn’t decide on a date.
With my husbands side, we had my shower when I was about.. 25 weeks. With my side, we’re having my shower around 30 weeks.

Its up to you. Really, whenever you feel like having one.

Some people even wait till after the baby is born.

I did not have a baby shower when i was pregnant with my son.

If you want to have one, have one if not dont. People will buy you things whether you have one or not.

Well, my vote is around 30 weeks. We chose to have our shower at a bit past 35 weeks, since it would be cool for me to be so pregnant. I didn’t show until late, so I wanted to have a good bump. That was not a great plan, as I didn’t feel too well and ended up delivering only a week later. We didn’t have time to get all the goodies put away or write any thank you notes. I still haven’t gotten them done :( So, I suggest 30 weeks. Good luck! Boys are soooo fun.

Most people have it when they know the sex and in the third trimester. But I say just knowing the sex is good enough..you can have yours anytime now if you want. I had mine at 32 weeks just because I wanted to have a nice big baby bump for the pics.
