Sweet Baby Gifts

I don’t want to give her the usual gifts like clothes and baby stuff.

valium <laugh> just kidding, but I always get baby shower gifts of those kits that let you take an imprint of the baby’s hand. They are a great gift.

So, my friend whom ive known since junior high - 9 years - is going to have a baby boy. I dont know what to get him and his wife. . .I dont want to get them clothes cause ive heard newborns grow out of them fast, and I dont want to get a diaper cake. My gf is thinking of getting them a diaper bag filled with a bunch of items. Any good diaper bags? around the $60 or lower range? For my gift, I want something that will be used for a long time, and or something that is special. Mothers, please help me out Thanks in advance.

I love this set.
I can use the big bag when we go out all day. I use the smaller bag when we are just going to the grocery store and all I need is a few diapers and a bottle. I use the small little pouch for first aid items. Its very sturdy and you would be amazed by how much fits in it! Plus its a very good price, so you’ll have more money to spend on the items that fill it.

P.S. - Babies r us carries a cute blanket that matches this diaper bag for $17 its very soft and my daughter loves it!

So i just got the privilege of being a godmother (for the very first time!) to my cousins son that lives in Haiti. I am very excited about the opportunity and i am going down to Haiti next summer for the ceremony. I wanted to know, what kind of gift should i buy my new godson?

A great gift for the occasion would be a gold necklace for the baby or a ring that says god bless this child. Something that is a keepsake and will be remembered always.

usually boys like automobile things like cars and trucks with remote control…u can also present different shapes , color blocks which will improve their hands and brain coordination…u can also present them soft books with colorful pictures and repeating words, so they can learn…or else simply go for a nice blue dress with light shoes…

i want to knit a blanket and get a non expensive gift or two from her registry.but would that seem cheap? what would you do?

Friends are having a baby boy and have everything + more. We are on a tight budget and do not know what to get them. Because the baby has so much, should I buy for the mum/dad and what do I get? They are furnishing their home so I thought a picture frame might be good- so they can put a family portrait in, or a c.d. for the baby????? They are very stylish and like to have the latest of everything, Please Help!!

Buy a package of diapers and a package of diaper wipes. Those are always needed.

month old now and will be coming home on Monday they think. He was born full term but then had an infection that lead to meningitis and heart failure. Amazingly, he is pulling through. What can I get for a baby gift for him? What could I get his Mom? She is incredible. She also has another little boy that will be 2 on Valentines day. What could I get him for his birthday and for him to have a little attention? She has had to spend a lot of time away from him in the NICU at a hospital hours away.

For the baby… just get a basket and put some diapers, bath products, onesies, a few blankets, etc. in there. You can also get him a special teddy. Those types of things are far more appreciated (and welcomed!) than any other gift. What a strong, brave little boy.

For mommy, if you want to, print out a few ‘gift certificates’ or "IOU’s" for your services as a babysitter, ‘maid for a day’, ‘cook for a day’, etc. Focus on the things you want to help with, or don’t mind helping with, keeping your own schedule in mind. Otherwise, get a ‘treat basket’ filled with goodies like chocolates, bath salts, a massage kit (hubby can help with this!), aromatherapy oils, perfume, etc. I got a chocolate basket when I had my son, it included a bottle of perfume, a teddy and a watch. It was my favorite gift by far.

For the 2-yr old you can do something similar… but you don’t have to spend that much money. They have just as much fun with cheaper toys as with expensive toys. Make him a goodie bag filled with his favorite things (ask his mommy what he likes at the moment). Otherwise, just take a wild guess. Put some sweeties (ask his mommy what he’s allowed to have if you don’t know) in his bag, a few toy cars, crayons, a coloring book or a book with blank pages if he enjoys drawing more, some plastic animals, a few bath toys, a bouncy ball and anything else you think that will fit in his bag.
