I’m going to a baby shower tomorrow night and I only have a 25 dollar spending limit. I love scrapbooking so I decided I would just make a card, but I want to get a neat gift for my friend and her future baby. Do you have any ideas?

Also, we don’t know whether it’s a boy or a girl. So a gift that can be unisex.

Chances are that you already have some scrapbooking supplies on hand so would you have time to make a personalized baby memory book?

or

what about a Christmas ornament?

It would be very nice to be the person who buys the new baby his or her very first Christmas ornament. Either way, your gift will be remembered and appreciated for a very LONG time and that’s pretty cool.

I’m going to help my sister buy some things for her best friend. Her best friend is having a baby shower next month. She is a first time mom and she’s having a boy. I really want to get something nice for the baby that will be used often. But I also want to get something unique. Any ideas would be appreciated! :]

Im giving a friend a baby shower. she has 3 other kids already ages 6 ,3 and 18 mons, her hubby is deployed to Iraq and he wont be here when the baby comes, so a friend and I are going to give her a shower to help make things easier. I also wanted to give little gifts to the other kids so they don’t feel left out.

what would be some good gift ideas to give to the older kids? all are girls and she is having another girl

toys are something good and they’re multi-functional…
buy them toys that their mom won’t or can’t afford to buy them. something that you can use to keep them occupied with during the shower, maybe something that they could all play with together…think dolls or duplo legos (those are the big ones) or my person favorite play food & dishes

My close friend is having a baby shower for her second baby to come who will also be a girl. So clothes and toys are absolutely pointless as she has everything. I’m totally out of ideas and have a budget of 100 at most. She hasn’t made a registry either.

Please help. Thanks in advance!

DIAPERS!! I just had my 2nd baby-another boy- and already had everything really I needed from my 1st baby. I wasn’t planning on having a shower, but my best friend surprised me with one. (yay!) The best gifts I received were diapers. I got loads of them in different sizes. And wipes too. One of my friends got me a HUGE 230 count box of size 1-2 diapers and a HUGE box of wipes (I assume at Sam’s club) and it has come in so handy.

Your friend won’t need that many newborn size diapers, but she will need some. I used probably 100 newborn size diapers until my baby grew out of them. He’s 5 weeks old now and I am using size 1 diapers.

If you have a Costco card, the Kirkland diapers (Costco’s brand) are AWESOME. Very soft and very absorbant. I can’t recommend those enough.

Another gift idea to go along with diapers is a baby record book. I got this one(they make them in different colors for girls if you prefer) and LOVE it:

I would also think about getting this baby her very own blanket. I don’t know why, but blankets seem so nice to me; everyone child should have a special blanket.

Have fun!!!

My sister is organising my baby shower- She has been great and let me be in on what’s going on as I was not keen on having one- i really don’t like the idea of baby showers but she’s convinced me it will be more of a get together with close friends and family only.
So I need some gift or prize suggestions for people who come along and also a thank-you gift for my sister for doing a great job organising this for me??

Wow! Normally it is those that come who gives you gifts - mostly what the baby needs or will use at a later stage. Some do get gifts for the mother as most people concentrate on the baby. If you want to give gifts then I suggest you get mugs/plates/bowls/trays and have the words "THANK YOU FOR COMING TO MY BABY SHOWER. Make your sister’s different - YOU ARE THE BEST. I LOVE YOU

so i am attending a baby shower very soon and im trying to think of different ideas as i dont know any other people attending and dont want to double up on anything.
The baby is a 9 month old boy.

any ideas that are considerably diff from the norm?

i am considering a Thermo Baby Aqua Baby Bath Seat

any ideas would be appreciated :)
Actually as a guy I first had trouble with baby gifts, but a girlfriend recommended a gift that’s always a big hit with the new mother, and is used for years by the infant into toddler age and beyond. I think you are on the right path in looking for bath items as that’s a big part of the baby’s life. The gift I always get now is a personalized hooded towel made of high quality cotton that lasts for years. One website called TowelHoodies at www.TowelHoodies.com lets you choose a custom ribbon to match the family’s style, and you can have the baby’s name embroidered on the towel.

Moms love having this cozy warm towel always ready for baby at bath times.

Anyway good luck in your search, but this one has been a sure thing and I still get comments from the moms years after giving this unique and personalized gift.

A bunch of my friends are starting to have kids now, so I want to give them a gift that is really useful and thoughtful. I usually fall back on either a bib, little baby clothes, onesies, or a gift certificate to Target. Is there anything more unique or more useful I can get the parents? Are there any customized gifts that are good? Since I don’t have kids, I am clueless! Thanks!

Newborns - DIAPERS DIAPERS AND MORE DIAPERS. I know it’s boring, but it is VERY useful. Diapers are expensive and babies go through a TON. They are also ok if you get the wrong size, because they are very easily exchangable with or without a receipt.

Fantastic gift for toddlers - they have music CD’s and books that you can order personalized with the children’s name. Like my daughter (2 years old) has an Elmo CD that says "Come on Mia, let’s play a game!" and she just LOVES it. She will listen to it over and over again…

My oldest (five years old) has many books that are personalized with her name printed into the story and she just thinks that is cooler than snot. :)

Also a really nice gift that I have been given in the past was blankets and pillowcases with the children’s names embriodered along the edges. It was very nice, and I knew they had put some thought into it. Don’t know if you know anyone who does sews, but you should be able to find several shops that do it on commision as well.

Good luck to you! Hope I helped…. :)

My sister is pregnant and chose not to know whether she’s having a boy or girl which is making it really difficult to choose a gift for the baby shower. What are some good ideas?

Get her a baby bath tub and fill it with goodies like washcloths, baby powder, wipes, diapers, shampoo, hooded towels, rubber ducky, etc. That’s stuff both genders need! :)

Congrats on your new neice or nephew.
