My wife is going to be delivering twins and I want to have a gift to give my daughter when she comes to visit the babies at the hospital. It will be a gift from the twins. So I am wondering what might be a good gift she will be 20 months old when the babies are born. please help
My Mom got me a baby doll and a book called Baby Dear. It was all about being the big sister and taking care of my baby when my Mom took care of hers. I am not sure if the book is aroound anymore, but you can get your daughter a baby doll and some thing for the baby. That way she can take care of her baby. The age gap between your children is great. It won’t be too difficult for her to adjust to the twins. It is also cute that you want to get your daughter a present. Good look with the twins!
I am giving birth to twins a boy & a girl I’m due Dec 4,2010 and I am really excited about the baby shower. The shower is in a few weeks and I need some help with baby shower prizes. I don’t want to be too cheap yet I don’t want expensive gifts either. Does any one have any good ideas on what I should do?
CONGRATS!!
Prize ideas, my two pics would be candles from yankee candle, make your guests think you spent a bunch of money but really don’t…if you go onto google and type in yankee candle printable coupons you will get one that is 10$ off a 25$ purchase, who doesn’t like candles right?
My second would be a soap and a lotion put together with some ribbon, just cut a peice and wrap it around the two together (pink and blue maybe?) put some curls on the ends and you should be good to go…since you still have a few weeks, look online for Victoria’s Secret print-ables or Bath and Body Works, if you catch it right you can get 7 (sometimes 8 mix and match) bath items from VS for 35$ every once in a while B&BW will have a 10$ off 30$ coupon too.
If you have the time and want your guests to think they are getting really expensive gifts that were cheap for you this would most likely be your best shot.
Hope this helps some =)
A friend in another state is expecting twins!! Should I send a gift off their registry right away and if so can I send just a card when they arrive or should it be another gift?
Thanks!
itachi LOL !
in most cases people get same stuff from many people so that makes it a hassle to them to return some back and get something else they need. best gift would be cash as parents can use it on whatever is missing
along with a nice cute card of course
I’m 22 weeks pregnant with twins
my and my bf (cayo) family from africa and south and central america keep sending clothes now we have a huge surplus (especially booties we got about 90 somthing now ) and we were thinking about giving the extras to charity (it really hard cuz they are all so cute!!!) but…..
is that impolite
There are times when it’s not right to give away gifts given to you, but in your case.. I don’t think your twins will need 90 booties. Besides, they always manage to kick them off the moment you turn around.
I’m going to my boyfriend’s brother’s wife’s baby shower. I wanted for us to get them one big item (crib, stroller) but those are already taken. I’m thinking we should spend about $200-$250 on the gift(s). My boyfriend was thinking more like $100. We aren’t chipping in to host the shower so considering that this is for his brother (who helps him with his business), I think $200-$250 is an appropriate amount. when my very best friend had twins, I spent between $500-$600 dollars on gifts and co-hosting the shower. This is also their first child.
Any answers would be helpful. thank you
Good grief, that is A LOT of money! I suppose if you are financially comfortable with shelling out a couple hundred dollars then go for it but, really, the most I’d personally spend on a shower gift is $50 and that is only if it is/was close family.
Should I wait and see the size of the babies before I buy diapers and buy something else I’ll need?
i suggest wait on the diapers–get what else you may need
im not livin in USA where every stuff can be free delivered. after first miss carriage and difficulties, i am now happily pregnant in the middle of no where and no friend at all (just arrived after relocation). my baby predicted to born on 15 march (twin babies). as a gift, my in laws give us amazon gift card to buy stuff as a gift for the baby and they said this card has to be used for buy a baby stuff. and these are what i really want to buy…
1. Baby bouncer (will be nice to keep one at a time while im busy with the other one!?)
2. Breast pump (is a muct i guess…)
3. Baby stroller for twin
4. Carseat
I have decided to buy these items, but when i saw the shipping fee, i start to think SHOULD I BUY OR NOT.
in the city where we live there are so limited options of baby goods, and actually with the price we pay at amazon, it will be almost the same with the price in the local market but with a less good of quality.
I know i can avoid the baby bouncer, but i really really want to have this… and with the gift card i have, i can buy all those stuff together+shippment… and after the first misscariage, we really happy and wanted this baby to have "fancy" stuff…
but, do you think its worth to pay tripple price just because of the shipment fee? and i realize these stuff wont last more than 9months…
and for the stroller, is it worth it to buy the $700 for a double stroller? (really good one though) OR just buy the ordinary one with a cheaper price about $300?
Thank you SOOOOOOOO much!
PS: dont tell me about baby clothes, we have everything already from my sister
My baby HATED a bouncer. When I put her in it she sobbed and was completely scared out of her wits. She never liked it. You can’t tell if a baby will like a bouncer or not before you try it, so I don’t recommend buying one until you can try one out. Same with a baby swing.
And while a breast-pump is nice, you can’t use it for the first month (it can hurt your supply, just let them nurse naturally.) You may never use it. I actually got 2 from family who never used their breast pumps when I was pregnant. I ended up unable to breastfeed because of medical issues, so I didn’t use them either. I donated them.
I would go with the car seat or with the stroller. You need the car seat from day one, and the good ones typically aren’t that cheap. Strollers will become a necessity especially with twins on the way. I’d look for a stroller with big wheels (like a jogging stroller) since they go up and down curbs, through grass and dirt and sand, and just are easier to handle, and the further back they lay down the better it is for a newborn.
by American Girl?
My triplets are 3, and their friend has a bitty baby and they’re all in love. Normally I wouldn’t hesitate to give them that as a Christmas gift, but I’d have to buy three and they don’t come cheap. Would you:
- buy one bitty baby and one set of bitty twins (saving a little bit of money)
- try and scope them out on eBay?
- not buy them at all?
- or avoid potential breakdowns and order them from AG?
I had never heard of these dolls, so I checked the website. They’re really charming. They remind me of the dolls I had when I was a child. They were French ones made by Corolle (http://www.corolle.com/). They still make some good ones, but unfortunately I haven’t seen any as beautiful as the two I had back then.
Your dolls may be expensive, but a beautiful doll like that is kept forever. I still have my Corolle dolls and I’m 24 now. I actually remember when I got the last one at Christmas. She was so beautiful, I couldn’t believe it.
I am trying to find a good cuddly doll for my babies Christmas gifts. My twins will be 7 months at Christmas. I am having trouble finding soft, cuddly dolls though. They all have hard plastic faces! Is there a kind out in stores this season that are actually made for babies?
Try looking in the baby department at walmart, instead of the toy department.
I had found a small stuffed doll for my baby there a few months ago.
There are also a couple listed on their website, under personalized baby gifts.. you can have baby’s name embroidered on it..
