I want a keepsake book that you can put pictures in and thats starts from WAYYYYY In the beginning like how me and my daughters father met and when she was conceived then things about the pregnantcy and then things about the labor but i dont know where to find one.. my cousins girlfriend got one for a baby shower gift and its adorable.. but she doesnt know where it was bought from.. where can i get one like that.. i live in the mid PA area.. and i dont really one to pay an arm & a leg for one either.. do you know where i can get one like that??

Carter’s makes a GREAT keepsake book. You can find them at Babies R Us. The design seems to change all the time….but I think they almost always have the "story" pages included (where baby came from…..)

I think these are the best books, too…..

I am a Hindu woman and my brother and wife are having their first baby in a few months. As the aunt , I need to give out a personalized keepsake to friends and family after the birth. Does any one have any cool ideas? I wanted something that people could use.

This might sound silly but buy twelve disposable cameras and a gift card covering the development of the film for the first year. This way there is no reason to not have the film developed monthly. I think this is a practical Kodak Moment gift.

My OB is only allowing me one more ultrasound since I am NOT high risk and I have to wait until I am 21 weeks to see what sex the baby is. We talked to my OB about getting two 3D/4D ultrasounds while I am pregnant and she said she was fine with that since it is safe, in fact she said many of her patients do it.

Should I make an appointment for my first 3D/4D ultrasound when I am 16 weeks? I can find out what the baby is 5 weeks earlier and see the baby in action. I get the ultrasound along with a 20 minute DVD of our baby and 15 pictures for $89 total. PLUS I get $50 off my next visit.

What do you think? I am excited to find out what it is and would like to see it move around since regular ultrasounds don’t show much detail.
* I am 14 weeks now *

You won’t get much detail at 16 weeks. I would wait until at least 21-24 weeks as you will be able to see so much more and have a better remembrance.

which, out of all the things you’ve kept from when your child was born, is your favourite?

Mine is his first outfit home (a white romper with i love mummy and daddy on it), and his belly button clip, i was so nervous of knocking it when he was newborn! i had nightmares over that clip!! lol

The birthsheet that they gave us with his feet prints on them. My husband is planing on getting it turned into a tattoo in the next few months. I have have his umbilical cord clip. I ended up knocking it off while giving him a bath, though it was ready to come off. I also still have all of his hospital tags and the hospital shirts that he wore while he was there.

am looking for ideas. It’s a boy. I do not want to spend lots of money. Please help me with any ideas!!!

Thank you,

I’m not sure if you’re asking about favors for a baby shower or if you are trying to select a meaningful present for a baby shower.

If you are asking about favors, don’t get any. People have enough junk and generally take that stuff home and toss it. Save your money.

If you are asking about a gift, buy a special baby spoon. Most department stores and baby stores have a nice selection with a wide range of prices.

I'm 38 weeks pregnant with a girl and I'd like to put together a little box of keepsakes for my baby. I'd like to enclose a newspaper on the day that she was born, and maybe a Time magazine. I obviously want to save her first haircut "lock" later on. I don't have a whole lot of money to spend. I thought of putting in the outfit she wore home from the hospital. Can you think of any other nice little keepsakes that would show her what 2009 was like, or that would just be nice for her to have? I might make a "time capsule" for her to open later. :)

Thanks!

pictures of the house/apartment you live in
the hospital bracelets you 2 wore @ the hospital
copy of whatever is the biggest movie, album, book, etc. in 2009
weather forecast on the day she is born

I am looking for a book that provides ample space for our own thoughts and photos and doesn't just try to fill up the pages prompting us for seemingly inane information. I am also looking for something that is religiously neutral. I have spent hours trying to search the web (I am not even sure where to look) and would absolutely love any suggestions from people. Thank you so much.

Hello,

I am doing a scrapbook and Keepsake Record book for our twins. I found the keepsake books at BabiesRUs which give ample space for writing your thoughts.

My twins will be a year old next month and I am at 7 months of their scrapbooks. Having twins does not make it easy to get done in one year.

I will probably do a separate scrapbook just for their 1st birthday as well.

Hope this helps you……………….. :-)

I am creating a Keepsake Treasure Box for a new arrival in our extended family. I need some good ideas for a suggestion list for the new parents, so they can begin filling the box. Please post any and all ideas you have, no matter how obvious you might think they are. I could use lots of help!
All great ideas!! Thanks!
What things that can be saved over the course of the first 18-21 years??

I did it for my daughter and then once a year we empty it and put as much of it into a scrap book as we can. Here is my list for you…wrapping paper from shower and gifts (the leftover stuff that wasn't used to line the babys dresser drawers) and ribbon this works great in the scrap book, a local newspaper from the day the baby was born, a small box for the babies cord clamp, the benie they put on the babies head, the tape measure used to get the babies length and head, the band aids from the babies first shots, a copy of the mom's record from all her doctors visits while preg., all the cards from people welcoming the baby, a picture of mom and dad, a picture of home baby coming home to, parents cars, also a list of what things cost in todays world, the outfit the baby comes home in, a copy of hospital bills, a couple of pressed flowers from hospital, any and all papers recieved from hospital, a picture of nursery at home, stuff from shower like invite, napkin, decorations, and birth anouncement. I kind of keep everything then like i said go threw it once a year and put the stuff that will fit into a scrap book. One other thing..If you are making the box then make another box that is the size of a reciepe box you know the 3X5 index cards. Fill it full of index cars and get a cute pen. Then the mom, dad, friends and family over the days and years can take out a card write the date on it and anything they want. For example I write things that my daughter is doing, changes she goes thew the way I feel. I also write down memerable moments when I don't have the time to get her scrap book out so I don't for get. It is easy and simple. A month ago she got her first hair cut. I saved a piece of her hair in the keepsake box and then got a card out wrote down the date that she got a hair cut, how she acted and who was there. Now she always has that even if I never finish her scrap books. Good luck and have fun!

I want to keep some of her clothes, shoes and some other things. I am not sure of the best way to store them so that they don’t discolor and the moths don’t get to them. My MIL was showing me some of my husband’s baby clothes and they look ratty at this point. How are you going to store your baby’s things? Thanks!

My uncle is making me a beautiful wooden chest for all my son’s keepsakes. I put all the special clothes and little blankets in Space bags to keep bugs and moisture out. Plus, it cuts the space that all those things would require. I have also heard that you can put a small container of baking soda in with things to keep them from yellowing and keep the moisture away.
