My cousin is due in September so she’s going to be having her baby shower soon. Rather than buying her one big thing, I was thinking of buying a basket and putting a bunch of baby things it it. I could spend $30 - $40 bucks. I’m only 17 so I don’t know what else to put in her basket besides baby powder, baby shampoo and lotion and onesies. Do you guys have any other ideas?

Thanks! (:

bottles (about 2), a blanket, a bear, a bottle brush, Wipes, brush and comb, baby bath rags, booties, bibs, and socks.
you could go to a dollar tree or something like that and get lots of stuff to put it.

i wanna sell gift baskets for birthdays, baby showers, special days, and holidays and i wanna know i will make a good profit and if i have a site online for it will the profit be grater?

You are the only one that can figure that out. You need to complete a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis and write a business plan to prove that the business idea is viable. Go to http://sba.gov/smallbusinessplanner/plan/writeabusinessplan/index.html or http://www.score.org/template_gallery.html for instructions on how to write a business plan and sample business plans.

I was planning on making a basket for her filled with diapers, baby wipes, etc. What should I fill it with? Her baby is a girl, and I want to keep my budgert under $30

BQ: What was the best gift you ever got?

If you are set on a basket get her diapers, wipes, a hard case - huggies makes one - for the diaper bag, a bottle brush, those toy links ( I used them for everything initially lowering all her toys so she could reach them and eventually attaching them to objects in case the fell out of the stroller or car seat), a pack of cloth diapers (the best burp cloths ever better than the fancy expensive ones I received).. That should be about 30 bucks. All very useful!

Best gift I ever got was a swaddling blanket - not receiving blanket but a 40 inch blanket and an ergo carrier.

where can i get a basket to put stuff in and how do i complete the finishing touches. Any suggestions what gifts to put in the basket…i want it to be unique and not like everyone elses gift….thanks

You can buy baskets at Walmart or at a craft store such as Michaels or Hobby Lobby. What you put in it will depend..do you want it to be for the baby or for the new mom? If for the baby, you could put diapers, lotion, baby shampoo, stuffed animals, blankets, rattles, or pacifiers in it. If for the mom, you could put a baby book, bubble bath, lotion, a photo album or frame, or anything else you think a new mom would appreciate.

There will also be a surprise gift basket for mom to be, to help her pamper herself once baby arrives.
If you are interested feel free to purchase a small inexpensive gift to add to the basket.

Not sure where to find one , been looking at the sears and walmart website and haven’t seen any.
Help , any suggestions ?!

Many florists offer this, why not contact Martin’s Flowers in Toronto, they may be able to direct you. Babies R Us may also offer this service.

At a wedding shower, I have seen people give gift baskets where each item in the basket is a part of a cute story the recipient reads out to the group. Has anyone seen something similar, but more appropriate for a baby shower?

I saw it here and it was The Baby Story http://partygameideas.com/baby-shower/printable_shower_games_1.php

When I have seen them done, didn’t guests give the gifts (it could be a big basket) Luvs, Snuggle, Pampers, etc…

I am Vague friends with a woman who has just found out she and her hubby are expecting in January, I am not to familiar with how they plan to raise the baby( except she is going to nurse).
I want to Put together an Amazing gift basket for her, What I am thinking is 3/4 baby stuff, With 1/4 of ’spoil the new mommy’ items and am looking for some advice for what I should included.

So Ladies,Husbands, Sisters, Pretend that you just had a baby and Tell me what comes to mind that you need, Need more of, Would have loved to have/Had,ETC.

And how to pamper her ( I am including some really good ear plugs)

And I am very crafty so If you have seen it somewhere post the link for me please

A spa gift card was always a fav for me…included with the date and time so you coordinate with hubby to babysit! If she drinks….a nice bottle of wine. One thing someone bought me which I really appreciated was a monogrammed robe and slippers for the hospital!!

I was going to make a diaper cake for my friends baby shower since my sister made me one and I loved it! But I guess my idea was too good because a ‘friend’ of mine instantly took the idea as her own. But I’d rather not be petty about it…time to think of a new idea haha. I liked it because it was cheap since I don’t have a lot of money.

I have a baby bath that my son used and I was going to make a gift basket using the bath instead of a traditional basket. I also have a car seat toy that he barely used to put in there and some unopened lotions and bath stuff. What other cheap things could I include? Does this sound like a good idea?

What was your favourite shower gift? Thanks :) I know about the pampers, i’ve even told her about that :-)

Luvs are not available in Canada and are also made by the same company as Pampers :(
I would still use the bath tub and just fill it with lots of diapers and wipes.

Or…. You could always go to accouple of garage sales and buy her some second hand toys for when the baby gets a little older. All that stuff cleans up nicely with a little soap and water.

I’m sure she would appreciate anything you give her!
