My firstborn is due middle the of April and i’m somewhat confused as to what clothes I should be buying as sometimes April can be warm…

Also - I want to buy a growbag to put the baby in when he/she sleeps but what tog woudl I get?

This is all very new to me and i’m unsure where to start and don’t want to go overboard buying things I won’t use

Same thig with bottles, how many of what size, and do you get slow, medium or fast flow and wide or narrow teats etc etc?
Thank you for all of your help

So are we saying that swaddles are a better idea than the gro bags (sleeping bags)?

I plan on trying breastfeeding but eventually will be combining both

Cool clothes.

I would really like to know other people’s opinions on whether retro style remake baby clothes would sell? I know I have searched the net and cannot find many good looking remakes of the cute long jackets and bonnets and dresses and such. I ended up having to buy a few patterns from the 30’s and 50’s to make some outfits for my cousin’s baby. I was just wondering, do you think it would be worth my time to try to make them? I love to sew and am always coming up with what in my opinion is cool stuff, but I’m really into antiques and retro style things to begin with so yeah…. normal people (especially moms) please let me know what you think of the idea. Thanks!!

Yes, I think it’s worth your time. In addition, you can market those clothing made with the pre-80s patterns to mothers who use cloth diapers. Better fit for them.

I need opinions on which store name sounds better. Which store would you be more likely to shop at?
If you think both names suck and would never shop at either, good for you! Not interested in your opinions :)

But for those of you who would like to help me out please suggest which sounds better. FYI this is for a store selling unique, funny, cool baby/kid stuff (clothing, toys, etc)

Kick Ass Baby Gear

OR

Bad Ass Baby Gear

OR

Kick Ass Kid

The bleeped out word is the same in all 3 names. Think rear end. Thanks! :)
The second one for sure! The double B’s makes it more rememberable.

If you want to make kids’ clothes for sale in the US, please acquaint yourself with the requirements under CPSIA and CPSC (which are still being written). The law has some big teeth, and is definitely loaded in favor of large producers.

So I have always watched a lot of pregnancy shows and I know Petit Tresor is where all the celebs shop meaning it is probably extremely expensive, but they have SUCH cute clothes.. I think that baby clothes are… kind of cute but a little tacky too, like some little girl clothes that have ruffle things all over and crap, its just a little… tacky IMO. Maybe I am just a total label person, (which I am) but it would be cool to wear yoga pants and have my baby (if its a girl) in yoga pants too you know??? I mean I am sure you can probably find cheaper clothing that is just as cute but.. ITS PETIT TRESOR!!!! And I know Kourtney Kardashian has a kids clothing line also… so I just wonder did you ever buy from there? Would you ever?? Do you care about labels?? I am not pregnant just wondering

We don’t have that store in our state. I buy my baby clothes from Walmart or baby gap

I still fit in kids sizes, and all my friends are like, you wear baby clothes! and im not allowed to shop in their teen store, like hollister. i do shop in a few, like gg (max rave [rave girl]) that my friends say are weird teen clothes. i also like target, which my friends dont like either. i dont really care about them anymore. the problem is that i either dress like a baby or an old person! justice = baby store ( its for girls of ALL ages basically, but a lot of little kids shop there) and target= old lady store. i figured that out my self. me and my friends went shopping. since they went where they wanted to go, they had to come with me. not justice, but target. i bought 2 tie dye shirts. my friends bought 3 each. (they are rich)… and these were really nice clothes in the juniors section. i even came on here(yahoo answers) and asked teen girls if they liked my shirts. they said yes. but i went on a walk with my sister, and i saw 2 40 year old mothers wearing my shirts!

i dont care if my friends are unhappy with my clothing, but now i am too!! I DONT WANNA DRESS LIKE A BABY OR OLD LADY! where should i shop/. what shoould i do?

haha! dudeee i <3 Target!!!!!!!! If you shop in the juniors section you can find some really cute stuff :) hmm… maybe you can try marshalls (they have discount designer stuff so u can impress ur friends!), pacsun, old navy, forever 21, H&M, ross, aeropostale, abercrombie kids, etc! Also about the tie dye shirts… As long as you like it, it doesn’t matter!!!! Adults are teenage fashion wannabees so ur most likely gonna see them wearing stuff you have- not matter where you shop! hahah my MOM has a shirt that I have. Don’t worry! also, maybe pick up a fashion magazine like teen vogue, or seventeen just to get some inspiration on whats in style right now.

A good thing to do if you want good fashion is to start off with the basics. Get a pair of denim shorts, white shorts and jeans. Buy a few plain tops in different colors. Then shop for accessories so you can take the plain outfit and make it amazing! Buy necklaces, hats, bracelets, belts, hats, etc! Thats how i dress myself! I start out basic, and add sweaters and accessories to make it more stylish!

Also, some trends right now are studs, ruffles, floral patterns, stripes, button up shirts, tshirts tucked into skirts, summery dresses, bold accesories, and bright patterns.!

I hope this helped :)

I am pregnant right now with my first baby boy. Of course we will probably go a little overboard, but as far as clothes maybe its just me, but…. I don’t want all my kid’s clothes to be light blues! I want him to have some jeans and hip shirts, but it seems any cool shirts are affiliated with violent bands or disrespectful sayings. I want my 3 month old boy to have a jacket, jeans, tee, and shoes that don’t have any pastels. The really nice stuff is of course pretty pricey. Even though this is my first I will NEVER pay 30 dollars for a single onesie! Please help!

You are obviously new to this!

It is inconvenient and expensive to put a newborn on elaborate clothing.

Newborns poop a lot and throw up constantly for the first 2-3 months of life, that’s why newborns clothing is somewhat basic and washable as you will be doing a lot of laundry and doing a lot of clothes changing, and you do not need to be inconvenienced with gazzilion buttons, zippers etc.

Second, baby’s skin is very very delicate. I would not put jeans on a newborn; it will scratch and hurt a delicate’s baby skin.

You may have an out fit or two for pictures and special occasions when they are that little, but not for everyday use.

They will grow up so quick and then you will be able to dress them up in whatever you want, while they are babies, let them be babies.

Affordable, cute clothes, you can find in Old Navy, baby Gap and Gymboree have cute stuff too, but is more expensive.

Good luck
