One of my very best friends is fourteen and pregnant. I think it might be a good idea for me to get her a girt basket with a lot of inexpensive necessities as well as a few nicer (perhaps monogrammed) items. I am only thirteen and I have NO IDEA what’s essential for a baby. Any ideas for the gift basket?
*yes, my parents are ok with me purchasing these items; we are doing whatever we can to help my friend

Really, you should get her things for the baby. She has everything she needs.
I’d get her diapers. Everyone will get her diapers, but seriously you can never have too many diapers!
Lots of people will give her clothes and teddy bears. If you want to bring something for your friend, maybe you could get her a vase of flowers or an itunes gift card.

You could learn how to crochet and make a baby blanket!
Or maybe one of those fleece tie-blankets. They’re sooo easy to make.

a little hat for the baby would be cute too :)

I want to get a baby blanket monogrammed for a friends baby shower… I was wondering how much I can expect to pay to get that done. Pricing can be for either all 3 initials or first and middle name. I just don’t want to waste a store owners time asking them how much to do it just to find out its more than I am willing to spend.
Well I would have already called/gone in except I don’t get reception in my home, and it is over 100 degrees outside where I live…I am also 7 months pregnant and have a 2yr old…so just jumping in my car and going isn’t really a pleasant idea….I know the prices will vary, I just thought someone might have an estimate of how much I would end up spending. Please only answer if you have an idea how much it might cost.

Look in the phone book fro "embroidery". Call and ask. All craft people will charge a different rate. You have to call someone, or go there in person.

Make sure to tell them the fabric of the blanklet. It will make a difference.

I really like it. I have the speedy 25 in monogram already. Is this bag fashionable or is it an old lady bag. I am 13 so yeah. Please dont tell me to get a coach or juicy Couture purse i am specifically looking for opinions on the papillon! Btw i love the baby purse inside! I have the damier ebene

why would you waste so much money on a dumb purse when you can pay WAY less for knockoffs that look exactly like it?

I am starting an embroidery/monograming business but am having a hard time coming up with a name. I mainly embroider/monogram baby items like onesies, blankets, hats, etc. I would like it to be cute and also include my sons name.. Remington or his nickname RemJo or Rem. HELP PLEASE!!

How about:

RemJo & Stitch (Word play on the movie "Lilo & Stitch")

Want to buy stockings for myself, husband and new baby. Do I have them monogrammed,"Mommy/Daddy", "Mom/Dad" or our first names?

My husbands grandmother made us some and they say mom dad then the children’s names.
but since they are monogrammed maybe your names since you’ll want to keep them awhile and just buy a new one for each child you have, or mom and dad since kids out grow the mommy daddy term.

The name that the baby’s father and I have agreed on will make our baby boy’s initials C.A.P. The fact that its spells ‘cap’ doesn’t bother him, but for some reason I can’t stop thinking about it. What do you think? (We aren’t monogramming anything so the rearranging of initials for that isn’t enough of a reason for me to be ok with it.)

why would that be a problem? it’s not as if his name is cap or hat lol. but that’s an idea for a nickname, cap!! that’s nice, as a nickname I mean, not an actual name

some people have the initials G.A.Y and even worse lol

Like after I shower and stuff is it okay to put baby powder in between my boobs?
To minimize the sweat throughout the day?
I am just worried about it not being "safe" because when my mom goes for monograms they tell her not to use anything and I hear its not safe to use powders and perfumes near your boobs because of breast cancer…
what do u think?

thanks! (:

I think your mum probably has mammograms, not monograms, and she may be advised not to use a powder on her breasts before the mammogram, as it could distort the picture.

However, for daily use, baby powder should be fine. It will help keep you feeling fresh and is good for the skin.

If you are worried, try to use only powders that do not contain carcinogens (cancer-causing elements). Neways products are safe.

I’ve done numerous lists, but I can’t seem to have that "spark-moment" where I KNOW it’s the perfect name!

But I want to have THE name picked out ASAP so I can tell people and also so that I can get things at the baby shower that are monogrammed and stuff.

Do you know of any really great web sites that offer more help than just name searches and things? Or should I just stick to pen and paper brainstorming?

The consesus in the maternity ward here is that "spark-moment" happens when you see the child. Decided upon names have been changed to almost forgotton alternates once that face looks back at you and you know she’s really "Alternate Name #47" and not "Perfect Name" after all. Good luck

I WILL BE SELLING HANDMADE ITEMS LIKE BURP CLOTHS, BACKPACKS, MONOGRAMMED ITEMS, SOAP, JEWELRY, TOYS, PILLOWCASE DRESSES, HEADBANDS, MEMORY PAINT CANS, BIBS, EXC….SOME CUTE NAMES ALREADY TAKEN ARE BULLFROGS AND BUTTERFLIES, A PEA IN A POD, SWEET PEAS AND BABY CARROTS. I WANT A REALLY CUTE NAME. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS!
I think it would be cute to have "Little Dimples and" or "Chubby Cheeks and" in the name. I need something that rhymes.

Just thought of these….

Hands of heart
Kiddies and Cuddles
Cheeky Monkey
A mother’s love
Sleepy Bear
Handmade corner
Angels above
Made with Joy
Full of Giggles
Clever mommy
Have a nap
Ask Gramma
In the eyes of a child

Now some of these names are silly and may already be taken. I just put down what came to mind. Good luck finding a good name.
