I know it sounds corny, but I want to get something special for the one month birthday of my nephew. He was born Jan. 26th 2010. I was thinking of making him a CD of songs that would be special to him and I….songs with meaning. What songs should I put on it? Any other ideas of what I could do?

I would do something that he can apperciate when he gets older. A cd would not be something that would be apericiated. If you really want to get him something, how about opening up a savings account for him and for every special occasion put a little money it in. That way when he gets older he will have a little money put away for a car, college, or whatever.

I already got her a necklace in the shape of a star (stars are one of her favorite things), that is fashioned out of his birthstone. I wanted to give it to her from me, but I guess I’ll give it to her from the baby. I guess that means I’ve got to get her somethin else from me…

Yeah, switch the necklace to from your son, and get a spa gift certificate like the person below me suggested. Your still going to get good husband points for the necklace, it’ll just be super cute from the baby. If you have an Elizabeth Grady in your area, they’re really nice day spas, and have good prices. The best gift I can think of for baby’s Baptism is a gold medal of the Immaculate Conception to pin to the child’s baptismal garment. Often this is a gift of a godparent, so it’s wise to check first. These medals are even available now with accompanying gold safety pin!

My friend just had a baby last week, to show I care for the baby just like the mother (my friend) what kind of gift should i give her? offering to babysit sometimes?

cloth diapers. She will use them as burp clothes & w/ a newborn you can never have too many. Also something (that at least in my area is) hard to find are night GOWNS. When your baby is getting up every 2 hours, dealing w/ snaps & zippers is horrid. I always get new moms night gowns & they always appreciate it. Usually nobody else thinks to do it too, especially if it’s a first time mom.

My 7 week old has too many clothes and doesn’t need toys…bottles are her favorite thing..lol.
Really, we figured we had everything else, if they want to buy for her, buy something we can use. They thought it was a fine idea, no hurt feelings or anything.

I was wondering Is it safe for a newborn to sleep trough the night in the basinet. There is a warning on the pack and play not to add any matrasses , but is the baby wedge ok?
Or should I just buy a crib?

a baby wedge is fine… but keep in mind they are only good for newborns up to 15 lbs then they advise you to put your baby in a crib… either way your going to have to purchase a crib no doubt about it…
