I’m very excited, I’m now an aunt! My sister Alexia had her baby girl Olivia Katherine on December 3rd, and next month my mom is having a little family party so everybody can come meet baby Olivia! Me and my three other siblings are all wondering what gifts to get, because my sister basically has eveything you could ever get for a baby, and I do want to buy her clothes, but what else could I buy her that’s useful, or cute? Thanks for all of your answers!
Where do I begin
these answers are amazing! Between the four of us and my parents, we can probably get a lot of this stuff at target! I think im going to get her a light pink blanket that says Olivia Katherine her birthday and weight! Thanks everybody! It’s not possible for me to choose one answer!
Well to be honest with you i would just give my love & support to the child that god gave me as a blessing.
I was bored and decieded to make a list of all the things a newborn would need, when I told the list to my Dad he said I had no many blankets and onsies, I had thirty-two onsies and fifteen blankets, is that to many or just enough. I know in real life lots of then would be gifts or hand-me-downs, but I’m just wondering how many did your newborn have?
Footed sleepers are better than onsies. Babies feet get cold. If it is hot, do the onsie, but our place was generally on the cool side, so we had light weight footed sleepers. Without them their feet turned purple.
Blankets - puke wipe up you may want 4 a day. To lay baby on 1 or 2 a day. To swaddle baby 1 a day, but I prefer the velcro swaddlers. Easier to use and work far better.
We had far too much in clothes and blankets. Everyone gave receiving blankets and various burp cloths. I think we have 50 blankets and 25 burp cloths.
My second oldest brother Tom has a newborn daughter that’s just an hour old. Her name is Katrina and I don’t know what to get for her?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Ask your brother or his wife what they need. Diapers would be great but I’m guessing that she probably got a lot of those, and wipes, at the baby shower. Clothing is always cute and cheap to buy but more than likely she has tons of newborn sizes! So if you want to buy diapers buy bigger sizes (size 2 and up) and same goes for clothes (3-6 months or bigger). One thing that my sister didn’t get a lot of at her baby shower was receiving blankets and sleepers for the baby and she was in need of both so you might want to consider those items. My sister’s favorite blankets came from Carters.
A few other suggestions you might want to consider is a bottle warmer and bottle drying rack. My sister didn’t get either at the baby shower but uses them both so much now!
My cousin is having a baby and I am at college. I want to make HER and the baby something that doesn’t cost a lot of money and that I can mail. I can’t knit or crotchet so that is out of the question. Any ideas? Christmas is also coming up so I will do something else then.
You could try making this http://www.instructables.com/id/No-Sew-Fleece-Blanket/
I would have loved one when my daughter was first born, as this would have kept her warm while we were down the street.
Go to google and type in "no sew …" for what every you are thinking that you might like to make, there are plenty of patterns and other things that you can make for them.
I know an Islamic couple that will have a baby in a few months (a baby boy) and I was wondering what is the best gift to give them? I want to pick something sweet and endearing. Also are there any online stores that sells Islamic gifts? I don’t know of many stores in my area…. Thank you
I would buy clotes and toys or a babyprint scrapbook, something like that. check online stores, you should find something sweet.
I went to a baby shower and bought a lot of things for the baby, my question is now when I meet the baby, do I have to buy another gift? Aren’t the gift i bought for the baby? Not sure on the etiquette on this subject.
I think the best thing is buying something small for mom, if ur up for it. Some people came to visit me and my baby empty handed and I didn’t mind, but when people brought something for me I was so grateful! Food, flowers, magazines, anything that would make a new mom feel appreciated
We are going to baptise our newborn son soon. And I have been trying to find the perfect outfit for him and I completely forgot about gifts for the godparents. Anyone have any ideas? I would rather do home made gifts because it is more sentimental. But am not opposed to buying gifts. (Except all the ones I’ve seen are very dorky). I’m open to suggestions on this because I have no idea what to get them for gifts.
Get someone to take pic of the baby being baptiste and get the developed and give them one each or u could make the baby’s feet and or handprints on paper and a poem that’s sweet free
boy, newborn, i wouldn’t like a gift card i want a gift,
Well you can always buy diapers, or some newborn clothes, bottles, or even maybe even a soft teddy bear!
All and all you can just go to the baby section of a store like wall mart or target or kmart or the mall.
My daughter is 4 weeks old and she’s still in newborn sized diapers. The size 1s are still huge on her. I almost wish she’d hurry up and fit into them because I have boxes and boxes of size 1s that I got as gifts…it’ll sure save me some money! Lol
I know its different for every baby, so I’m just curious:)
Everybody says, "Don’t buy newborn. You’ll never use them". I guess they forget that some babies are small
My daughter came home at about 5.5lbs and wore newborn for about 1.5 -2 months.
its first baby born, and I want her to receive something useful .
I always give diapers or a gift certificate to have pictures made at a nice professional place. Both are something they are going to use. You can never have to many of either one.
