Last year at my baby shower my best friend gave me a gift certificate for a photographer to come to my house and take pictures of my newborn baby. This was an amazing and original gift idea. This year she is pregnant and with her baby shower approaching I am stumped! Any ideas of what I can do for her?? It would be cheesy to give her the same thing right?

How about giving her a digital photo frame? If she does not get a photographer gift she’ll probably pay a baby photo session herself since she seems to like this kind of gift. By giving her a digital photo frame she has the possibility to view and display all her baby photos all the time.

Hi everyone!

My little sister had a baby girl last night (YAY I’m an aunty again!!) and we are going over in 2 weeks to visit. I will be bringing all the christmas presents for family that live up where she does and wanted something for baby. Any idea’s for a unique present I can give them?

I’m definitely going to get my new niece some clothes… but not sure what else to get. I asked my sister and she said they already have everything Thanks in advance!!

How about making a baby time capsule for the new baby? This is something homemade and you can make it as small or big as you like: a time capsule is a box or container containing memorabilia, keepsakes, stories, photos etc. reflecting a certain date and time period, in that case the time when baby was born. The idea is that the container will be stored away and only be opened at ‘baby’s’ 18th or 21st birthday (or any other birthday or occassion such as his or her wedding or the birth of his or her own child). When it is opened, it will be interesting to see how time and things have changed and probably the nostalgic keepsakes will provoke a few giggles, too. Take a big box and leave it open so your sister can include baby’s first curl, baby’s first shoes, baby’s first tooth, etc. later on.

Anything besides clothing, blankets, and toys. We get tons of those!

Buy diapers in sizes 2 or 3, since we get about 20 packs of newborn and size 1 diapers that never get used.

Make a little basket with a bunch of safety items in it such as plug in covers, handle covers, ect. We love those!

I am attending a baby shower in 2 weeks and I am looking for any unique baby shower ideas. Something different than the "Laundry Basket and Diaper Cake" ideas. I am starting a Business in making unique baby shower gifts/favors such as diaper cakes, washcloth lollipops, washcloth bunnies, and so much more cute baby stuff! only thing is I cant think of a cute appropriate name!! and what is a business without a name!! HELP please!!

Sounds great! Here are a few things to keep in mind:

* Don’t limit the future growth of your company! For example, could you see yourself expanding and selling other items at a later date? Don’t artificially stifle your future growth by naming yourself something too specific and narrow.

* Make it easy for your customers to help you out with word-of-mouth advertisement! They should be able to spell and pronounce your business name with ease — if they can’t say it, they won’t be telling anyone about it.

* Be unique! Not only will this make you stand out, but you will also stand less of a chance of infringing on an existing trademark.

* Do your research. You’ll need to check in your state to make sure there isn’t already a similar name registered.

Looking for some baby shower games that are unique, not the normal baby gift bingo! Something easy to do and for groups! Let me know of any!

Some more active games are "Baby Hot Potato" where you pass a baby doll around a circle while you play a lullaby. Whoever is holding the baby when the music stops is out. Keep going until one person is left. Or "Diaper a Doll while Blind-folded." All you need is a doll, a diaper and safety pins and a dark blind-fold. "Baby Bottle Drink-off" is a hilarious game." Put about an ounce of punch, water or some other drink in baby bottles and have party participants race to drink their bottle. First person to finish wins. Another really fun game that will be memorable is "Baby Sculptures". Assign each participant a baby related item such as bottle, pacifier, baby’s first tooth, etc and have them make it out of Playdoh. The person who guesses the most correct sculptures wins.

I don’t like to pick out gifts anymore, its either wrong size, or they don’t like it, or exchanges, and the list goes on. I have been giving gift certificates to a store that they person likes. It’s easier on me if they get what they want. I won’t buy the bank gift certificates because they charge. As far as books Borders would carry lots of child raising.

I am creating a basket for an upcoming baby shower and I am looking for Jungle Theme or Safari themed baby gifts. I would really prefer handmade or unique item, I really want the basket to be special, it is for a close friend of mine. Suggestions?
