Why not buy a nice picture frame ? ~ That way the parents can select a picture from the Christening to put in it.
Or try a silver cup with the child’s name and the date of the Christening on it.
Or how about a gift card to the book store so the parents can select some books that they would like their child to have [this also reduces the risk of buying a book they already own]
Good luck

Well one thing you can offer is an album to put the pictures in. Or even a photo frame,.
People will sure be giving icons or medallions, you could get a gold necklace.
One thing is common where I come from is offering an ounce of gold.

Often gift stores have lots of items for such an occassion.
But yeah, something that is not offensive - go the photo frame or photo album. If you want the gift to be extra special, get one that can be engraved with the baby’s name and date and place of Christening

There are a lot of good replies here. How about a savings bond? Money is always good.
