When my babies were born I loved it when people brought an outfit and a little stuffed animal. My children still have the stuffed animals that people brought them when they were in the hospital.
I would say flowers but it was annoying to try and bring flowers and vases home from the hospital.

How much are you planning to spend? … How about a little savers account in her name with a few dollars in it…my baby got one of these and we kept shoving a few more in there from time to time…she’s worth more than me now!

Not sure what your budget is but bundleababy dot com is cute and someone else mentioned an account with a few dollars in it that was good too. Gifts to mom are good like gift certificate for pedicure or even a gift certiificate to a local house cleaning business….Good luck

I would make a gift basket with lotions, shampoo, baby wash, an outfit, and a blanket. Its not like going to the store grabbing an outfit and shoving it in a bag and saying tada!

For items that the baby can get real use out of:
A heartbeat bear
An infant to toddler rocking chair (30 bucks at walmart)
A music mobile
Pacifiers
Rattles (will use when older)
A play mat (will also use when when older)
Mylicon and tylenol…every baby eventually needs those…
A jumperoo (will use at about 4 months)
Stuff the mom will find useful:
Wash cloths/towel
Baby wash/shampoo
Sleeper suits
Diapers/Wipes
Diaper bag

Some of the things I found most useful…an outfit in size 6 months or up (most moms have lots of little clothes but not much for when baby is older. A nice blanket….my daughter spits up on hers constantly so they are always in the wash. Thos little blankets with the animal heads are great too…my daughter loves to chew on them. Diapers and wipes if you know what kind they are using…you can never get enough of those. Or just a gift card. I enjoyed giftcards the best because I could buy what we needed. I had tons of stuff so they were great for getting diapers, wipes, formula…stuff you need but people dont really buy you.
