My cousin just had her first child yesterday, and I want to get a unique gift that symbolizes the start of a new family! Something that has a saying like something along the lines of the two of us now become 3..any suggestions??
I totally agree with Alyssa’s Mommy. This isn’t a time for you to prove how original you can be. This is a time to support your cousin. Get her something practical. Bath toys are good because the kid can use them for years.
New baby gift? For New parents? I want something original!!?

I mean no disrespect at all… before I had kids I thought cute stuff was nice. Now that I have kids I can tell you 3 things that are for sure:
1) The kid will break any knick knacks you buy for your cousin eventually.
2) With the endless lack of sleep and wet diapers your knick knack will be the absolute last thing on your cousin’s mind
3) New parents need practical stuff.
If you want your cousin to truly appreciate your gift, bring them a combination of stuff like: a pack of diapers, wipes, gift cards for restaurants who deliver so they dont have to cook, a certificate for some hours of baby sitting from you, a gift certificate for the nearest baby supply store so they can pick up things they are missing… things they NEED and will truly be happy to recieve.

a really nice baby book would be a good one or maybe some of the picture boxes that stores photos. i dont know too many mom’s that have a lot of time to sit down and put them all in albums. if you are wanting a painted sign with a quote on it..i would google primative signs. there are all kinds of stores online that will personalize a sign for you.
