You have the whole internet in front of you. Use a search engine and search "baby bibs". You can get them used at thrift stores and yard sales for 25 cents and up.
My cousin is 19 weeks pregnant and her unborn son was just diagnosed with anencephaly. For those of you who don’t know, anencephaly is a neural tube defect that causes the baby to be born without most of the skull and brain. It is a fatal condition and most babies that are carried to term (whose mothers decide not to terminate the pregnancy upon diagnoses) die during labor/birth or shortly after. Anyway, I am trying to make sure she gets as many keepsakes of her baby when he is born as possible to remember him by and I am looking for ideas. I know the general hand and feet ink prints, as well as plaster ones but I am looking for more than that. Any suggestions would be more than appreciated and God bless those of you who make suggestions based upon experience.
I am not sure if this store is just located in Michigan or if it is across the United States, but google "Things Remembered". They have beautiful items that are personally engraved with whatever you want, and when I was shopping for Christmas they had a beautiful baby section. You can even bring in things that the store doesn’t sell and get them engraved. They have blankets, frames, time capsules, glasses, snow globes, watches - basically ANYTHING you can imagine, and it’s all of the highest quality. If she does carry her son to term, chances are she may not want pictures taken of her son in the state he will be born in. Maybe she will, maybe she won’t. But if they do footprints / finger prints, you could get a small picture frame engraved for her with her son’s name and they can frame the prints in memorial of his life. You could get a custom blanket done with his name. Another idea is to create a photo album of your cousin and her husband/boyfriend during her pregnancy if there are many photographs of her or anything like that up until his birth, and place his footprints and finger prints there with a nice poem. You can check etsy.com for custom crafts, blankets, clothing, etc. Everything is hand made and you could probably find a very beautiful album or anything else that you wanted.
Good luck to you and your family in this difficult time.
I have a female friend who has a forced abortion, so I wrote 20 pages in a custom notebook for her flled with Baby Loss poems, quotes, and words of comfort to help her… How do you think she’ll like it?
I would be upset if I got that even though your doing it out of the kindness of your heart. It may not be a good idea to give to her. Try something else, it may help her feel better if it was not to do with babies and the loss of them x
I am looking for some good stores that have thick terry baby bibs, where would u recommend
I would like to know more actual stores not internet sites.
I was never able to find them.. i made my own using terry toweling cloth nappies
I know it’s kind of a stupid question, but as a new mom, I truly don’t know how to wear those short/long sleeves onesies for my newborn. Should I put her head in first or her hands?
Thanks guys!
I put her head in first, then hands then do up the snaps. When your baby is old enough, play peek a boo while putting on clothes, then its more of a fun thing insted of dreading putting them on.
when my cousin had her baby, I gave her a gift voucher for $ 150/-, and wrote the names of our family of 5 in the card. Now the christening is next week. Do I have to give another gift? I must add, her parents have a habit of judging people by their gifts.
Thanks in advance.
Normally it’s customary to give a gift but since you gave them a $150 voucher I would think that would be enough.
there are monograms of initials (expecially on baby clothes) which initial goes first? like first middle last? last middle first? first last middle? what??????
thanks in adv.!
The last name goes first as the larger letter in the middle. First name to the left and middle to the right as you look at it. Personally, I don’t like children’s names on their clothes as I don’t want strangers knowing…but you didn’t ask that did you?
Try to mix things in with her favorite meals.
I have a daughter who is about to turn 2 with another baby on the way due in March! I have the money to go crazy but she doesn’t need anymore stuff! Just curious what other parents price limits are on christmas gifts? $100 per child? $50 per child? And how likely are you to keep it completely fair between spending for each kid? Will you spend more on 1 then the other or do you strictly spend the same amount on both to avoid a problem?
$50 on both children to avoid any problems(:
?What are your top 2 favorite Christmas names for girls?
?What are your top 2 favorite Christmas names for boys?
?What would you name your son/ daughter if they were born on Christmas? Would you give them a holiday-themed name or an ordinary name?
?Name 4 babies using the letters in the word Christmas as their initials.
First baby is a boy with the initials CH.
First baby is a girl with the initials RI.
Third baby is a boy with the initials ST.
Fourth baby is a girl with the initials MAS (2 middle names).
?Do you know anyone who was born on Christmas day? Do they get combined birthday/ Christmas gifts? Do you think it’s unfair that they receive combined gifts?
I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, or whatever holiday you are celebrating!
- Ivy and Belle.
- Nicholas and Emmanuel.
- I’d just give them my favourite name; the same name I’d use at any other time of year. But if I had to pick a Christmas themed name, I’d use some combination of the ones above.
- Charles Hale
Ruby Isobel
Samuel Theodore
Madeleine Adele Serena
- Not on Christmas Day, but my dad’s birthday is the 28th December. He hates getting combined gifts, or when people use Christmas wrapping / cards for his birthday. I can understand that and I do think it’s unfair, because someone born in any other month would get two sets of presents.
Merry Christmas!
