My baby is due soon! I have two girls ages 6 and 3. I was wondering if you had any ideas for big sister gifts for both of them. I was thinking:

-T-shirts to wear when the baby is born
-Special Day with Mom and Dad for each of them before the baby comes
-After the baby was born I was thinking to give them both rewards for being the best big sisters ever!

I am going all out with ’spoiling’ my girls because I am very nervous that they especially the 3 year old will think that I don’t love them anymore that I’m going to love the new baby more. I have talked to them about this ‘mommy and daddy love you all equally and you are all very special to us’. There was a little jelously with my second child between the first. But with three kids I think their will be even more! Do you think that is the right thing to do?

The t-shirts are great ideas for gifts! And special Mommy and Daddy time for each of them is very important.

I actually think the third baby is usually met with much less jealousy than the second. By now, both of your girls are used to having to share Mommy and Daddy with someone else. Your youngest may have some trouble accepting that she is no longer the baby of the family. I’d suggest putting extra emphasis on how important it is for her to be a big sister, how cool being a big girl is, etc. Stress the awesome things she can do that a baby can’t (playing on the playground, helping mommy in the kitchen, singing, riding her bike, etc.) Also, let your girls help with the new baby as much as possible. They can sing/read to the baby, hand you diapers, etc. Tell them how much you need and appreciate their help.

Spending extra time with your girls now and spoiling them a little is just fine. Just don’t get them so used to all the extra attention that they are even more upset when the baby comes. Also, be sure to tell them that there will be times when the baby’s needs have to come first, but that doesn’t mean you love them any less. It just means big girls know how to be patient and a baby has no idea!

Good luck and congrats on number 3!

Someone told me that they spent about 900$ on their toddler! 3 big gifts and about 15 small. Is this outrageous?! I have a toddler and don’t know what in the world would cost that much! And I need some AFFORDABLE gifts that I can get! What are some nice gifts to get her?

Diamond encrusted diapers a must have this holiday season.

A good friend of mine just lost their first baby a week ago. She was approx. 21weeks along. She delivered him at the hospital but due to his lungs not being developed enough, he died - in her arms as she watched his tiny heartbeat fall from the 170’s to just 5 beats per minute. I am truly heartbroken for her and wasn’t able to attend her celebration service due to living over 1,100 miles away.
I want to send her something to let her know I’m thinking about her and want to make sure it isn’t out of taste! It’s the holidays, so I didn’t think "a box of cookies with a card" was too appropriate!
ANY suggestions would be SO helpful! If you’ve been in a similar situation with a friend or have lost a child yourself and received gifts, I would love to know what made YOU feel special and loved.

Thanks!!! :)
Honestly if you could go to her somehow and spend at least a couple days with her and give her a shoulder to cry on, i think this would mean more to her than anything. It is kinda hard to think of a present bc you dont know if she would want a present that reminds her of her baby or not.

A NUMBER of men come from the East. They are astrologers—people who claim to interpret the position of stars. While they were at home in the East, they saw a new star, and they followed it hundreds of miles to Jerusalem. When the astrologers get to Jerusalem, they ask: ‘Where is the child born to be king of the Jews? We saw his star and have come to bow down to him.’
When King Herod hears about this, he is very upset. He calls the chief priests and asks: ‘Where is the Christ to be born?’ Basing their reply on the Scriptures, they answer: ‘In Bethlehem.’ At that Herod has the astrologers brought to him and tells them: ‘Go search for the child, and when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and bow down to him too.’ But, at heart, Herod wants to find the child to kill him!
After they leave, an amazing thing happens. The star they had seen when they were in the East travels ahead of them. Clearly, this is no ordinary star, but it has been specially provided to direct them. The astrologers keep following it until it stops right above the house where Joseph and Mary are staying. By now Jesus is about two.
When the astrologers enter the house, they find Mary with her young child. At that they all bow down to him. And they take out of their bags gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Afterward, when they are about to return and tell Herod where the child is, they are warned by God in a dream not to do that. So they leave for their own country by another way.
Who do you think provided the star that moved in the sky to guide the astrologers? Remember, the star did not guide them directly to Jesus in Bethlehem. Rather, they were led to Jerusalem where they came in touch with King Herod, who wanted to kill Jesus. And he would have done so if God had not stepped in and warned the astrologers not to tell Herod. Matthew 2:1-12; Micah 5:2.
I do not celebrate Xmas. Why can’t people except the truth about the star. The Bible says it was a ‘new star’. Who did not want that baby to be born? You know who it was that put that ’star’ or light there. There were many ‘astrologers’ not just 3. Your Xmas cards have a baby laying in a manger. Uuumm. Also you have snow on the ground. Uuum The shepherds were in the fields with the flocks. In Dec there was big snows in Bethlehem. Could it be according to other events that he was born in early fall. I wonder why they chose his enemy’s birthday to celebrate his on? Uuum. John 17:3 tells us that it means our life to have knowledge about the truth of who God really is and who his son really is and what his spirit really is. While you are off for the holidays, take time to read your Bible each day. Ask God for Holy Spirit to help you to find truth. A good book to start to start with is Mathew or Mark. Especially Mathew 24th chapter. Keep safe and know the

Satan, as he wanted Jesus dead. It was in the scrolls (scriptures) where he was to be born so the learned ones knew and did not need direction from a star. The wise men did not see Jesus in the manger but in a house when he was a toddler.

Two Gospels, Matthew and Luke, chronicle the birth of Jesus. These accounts show that only lowly shepherds from nearby fields visited Jesus at his birth. The so-called kings, or wise men, were in reality astrologers, not royalty, and they are not numbered. The astrologers did not journey to the side of a newborn in a manger but arrived when Jesus was a child and was living in a house. Their presence even jeopardized the life of Jesus!
Look closely at the account of Jesus’ birth by Bible writer Luke, and you will find that it says: “There were . . . shepherds living out of doors and keeping watches in the night over their flocks. And suddenly Jehovah’s angel stood by them, and . . . said to them: ‘. . . You will find an infant bound in cloth bands and lying in a manger.’ . . . And they went with haste and found Mary as well as Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger.”—Luke 2:8-16.

My boyfriend’s brother & brother’s girlfriend are expecting twins.

I love buying baby things for people, but since they’re family, I’m probably going to go all out…:)

Are there any things that are particularly helpful for twins?

Give them decorated coupons for home made meals delivered ASAP, cleaning services, child care help, etc. I’m sure they would LOVE that!

Also double stroller, clothes, diapers, wipes..

This website looks great! http://www.justmultiples.com/ Everything on there comes in two! And some of the clothes are really cute :D

This is another great website with great gift ideas…

My daughter is almost 3 and we are looking for some inexpensive crafts or gifts she can help make for her grandparents :)
Get old plastic bottles and paint them with Elmer’s glue then press white tissue papers to it. then let your kids have pens and ribbon etc. and let them decorate it like a snow man. When they are done you can poke a hole in the lid and put a wire through it so it makes an ornament. Another thing you can do it use popsicle sticks and make picture frames out of them. If you go on Disney’s or Family Fun’s websites they always have cute ideas.

We are tight on money and due to it being my sons first Christmas i want to use baby items to make decorations such as (diapers, pacifiers, baby bottles, ect) any baby items. Please i need suggestions. thank you

you could use a clear bottle to make a "time capsule" ornament, fill it with some scraps of clothing, momentos and pictures and hang it. Use small baby shoes as an ornament..
they have crayola clay at walmart for $5.. it has quite alot in it. you could roll out some balls of clay and imprint their hand prints, then cut a ehart around them and poke a hole for some xmas decorations

I want a baby blue (or some shade of blue I guess) bed for my Aussie, and I want to get her name put on it, but surprisingly I’m having a hard time finding one. I’ve tried google, but couldn’t find any sites that had beds I like. I’ve searched lands end, pet solutions, and petsmart. Do you know any?

There are many online catalogs. Here’s just one list:

I think I might have seen something like what you described in a PetEdge catalog (formerly NE Serum Co), but don’t quote me on that. http://www.petedge.com/home.jsp

For christmas, would it be okay to give some clothes aswell as some toys to a toddler?(neice/nephews)

Of course! As long as there’s no Juicy Couture involved, you’re in the clear. If you don’t know the exact size of something you can opt for a giftcard, but if you still want to add a personal touch you can go for mittens or a cute winter hat.
