What’s something you wish you would have received at your baby shower? Or what is a unique gift for a young mother? I know she isn’t breastfeeding, so things for that aren’t necessary. I want something practical & unique.
DIAPERS!!! My sister made me a beautiful diaper cake, she said it was really easy and she hadn’t ever done anything like that before. I loved it!

I always get something for baby but I don’t want to let mom feel left out so I always get her something. Think something that she likes, (makeup, candles, scrap-booking material) and wrap it up separately. Its just a nice way to make her feel special too because as soon as she delivers its all about baby. What ever you do accompany with a card with a note from the heart. Good Luck and have fun!

why don’t you get a bathtub filled with all the different things you might not normally get at a baby shower. like a kit with nail scissors, diaper rash( i like the butt rash stuff), baby wipes, extra bottles, some extra onesies(which she’ll go through daily), baby gloves(you know the ones that baby first wears so she doesn’t scratch her face up when she’s born) and maybe a little something for mommy because we can’t forget her, maybe a book or movie. most people give cute clothes and stuff like that. look up some stuff in baby books to find out what common stuff new mom’s need that most people overlook at a shower. anything like that is always helpful! and sometimes you forget to get that stuff until you really need it.

Some of my girlfriends got together and got me a gift certificate for one of those places (such as Dinners Ready) that makes meals ahead of time for like a week and you pop them in the freezer for the first week after the baby is born. It was a life saver!

Trumpette socks they are so cute, I got a couple packs at my baby shower and I love them! Also, a Moby Wrap is a great idea. I get stopped every time I use it in public by mothers & pregnant women. Both are special and not your everyday baby shower gift. Happy shopping!

We got some great ones at our baby shower(s). We have a 3 year old little girl and nine month old boy. There were three gifts that stood out above the others because they were so useful and also unique.
1) Me Too Seat
2) BabyLegs - someone above mentioned this - they are great!!
3) Little Giraffe blankets
We wrote an eHow article about what is great about all of these. We actually titled the tip article - How to Find Unique Baby Shower Gifts. So when I saw your question, i had to answer : ). There are links at the end of the article to each products main website (not sales sites) just the corporate site so you can check them out. I have no affilation to any of these products - we just loved them and more important we use them, daily. Take a look at the article if you wish. Pick a good one, you’ll make someone’s day!!
